I would be sad to hear of his passing. He was a gentleman with a keen intellect.

Oh man... Hope all is well in Dottore land.

Last activity feb 12. I like Dottore, and wish him well.

I'm out of country right now and his last name escapes me. I have it at home though and I'll Google it when I return. I'd thought of doing that in the past, but was afraid of what I might find out.

Mark, at one time, maintained residences in Vancouver B.C., (he's a Canadian citizen) and in Germany (his architect wife is German).

Yo, Jeff Alton! You know Mark. Have you heard anything?

I do know his full name and a google search turned up nothing using many terms.

Denis, would you mind pm-ing me his name and contact information? I'll try to contact him through the Canadian bar association. He has to be listed there.

Strange how we can become so concerned for others that we have (in my case) never meet. I am very concerned about Mark as well. He once went out of his way to make sure a fellow cancer survivor was dealing better with his own mortality. His kind words and great suggestions really helped me in a dark time........ Here's hoping for the best...............

Denis and I tried to contact him via email a few months ago to no avail.

I think I have his physical address (he sent me some harmonicas and books over the years). If I can find it I will write him a letter.

Based on his emails and few letters to me (the latest over a year ago) he is surrounded by loving family and friends.

Count me among the concerned,as well.

I searched for him as well as I can on Google and wasn't able to locate anything current. I did find an old bio of his from 2003 that was even more impressive than most of us probably suspected from reading his posts. He is a German national but lived in Canada at the time of his bio. He was a full equity partner in the law firm of Baker McKenzie, which was them and continues to be the largest law firm in the world. He practiced in Canada, the UK, and Hong Kong, specializing in corporate, commercial and financial law with a specialty in investment funds and private equity. He practiced across the world, including stints in Singapore, Hong Kong, and if course Germany and the UK.

Guys like that do exist in this world but they're as rare and impressive as Michael Jordan or Peyton Manning.

Thanks MRM. It's weird that a longtime and consistent poster would just drop out all of a sudden without even a swan song or goodbye note.

Mysterious.....

Mike -- so it's possible that our erudite Mark is alive, and living a retired life of leisure somewhere?

Peyton Manning!... I just about choked on my coffee...

He was doing that before he first posted here.
