Anybody heard from Dottore?
He hasn't posted in awhile since things kind of "went off the rails" in PARF. Always enjoyed his insight. Last time he was AWOL, he fought the "Big C", hope eveything is OK.
Hey Marc, if you're lurking, next time you make it down this way, pizza and beer are on me at Boccali's in Ojai. SmileWavy |
I PM'ed him the other day, but have gotten no response.
|
I miss him, too. It would be wonderful if he stops in and says hello. He's probably busy relaxing at his villa...
Erudite gentleman with a great sense of humor. :) _ |

BTW, my understanding is that he is still in talks with the Trilateral Commission and thus cannot be reached |

I thought he said he was going to travel around Europe for several weeks...

Definitely one of the good guys, but considering the abuse he took off some of the wankers there, who could blame him for not coming back?
|
I miss him as well, but have many of the same sentiments about PARF. I have no problem with a civilized, enthusiastic debate from opposing points of view, but there are about 6 or 8 posters in PARF who apparently do not have real jobs who make everything personal and very much use an immature, childish and rancid debating method.
I put a bunch of them on ignore, however they still destroy what otherwise might be useful and informative dialogue. ...a pox on all of them I say... D. PS - if Dottore is in Europe, tell him to contact me and we can perhaps have a drink, I am in Hamburg at the moment, off to Denmark tomorrow. |
I had a rough run a while back with my own cancer scare and some of the things he mentioned in a PM really helped me put things into perspective. Great guy, I noticed he has been gone for a while....... (I hope all is well....If you see this post man, let us know!!!)

There are less PITAS on this forum. Dottore comes across as a gentleman and a wise person. How come there are some folks that have to take issue with such minor cr-p? Just walk away. Back to Dottore, Dueller-:) oh yes good people. There are many others too..... |
For that matter, I don't think I've seen Mossguy for a bit either; another true gentleman of the board. Lots of good people have left, Kaisen, 911Rob, now maybe Dottore.
|
Kaisen is more than lurking...
|
Agree, Kaisen never really leaves, he does so every now and then for the "publicity" /marketing reasons, but always comes back.
It is worrisome not hearing from DOT, though, given his health issues. Dueller, too. Mossguy (thankfully) is still around and posting. |
I looked at Dot's last post, it was in a PARF thread and a habitually obnoxious/drunk poster completely lost it on him. It seems to me that someone in Dottore's position just doesn't have to suffer that kind of idiocy, and he probably just decided the s/n ratio here wasn't worth his while.
That is a shame - he had really cool experiences in his life to share. The French countryside foodie tour was one of the top 5 best threads I've ever seen in OT. He was always a gentleman, and the Roman Polanski issue notwithstanding I always enjoyed reading his point of view and respected him. We've lost lots of quality posters to the terminally anal-expulsive over the years. I still miss Bob (moneyguy). Fingpilot/singpilot posts but only occasionally. Island911, controversial and often a lunatic in PARF, is always a good read in OT and tech; he's been gone for a while now. The list goes on. |
