I think you can get these (in a kit) at your LAPS? I saw them on a '80s Ford Ranger recently and laughed! Guy was clearly making fun of the trend and it worked.

I think the LED strips can make a decent foot well light for an older car, if done properly. You can tell the obvious quality difference in the look and light output of the Audi/ Porsche vs FLAPS stuff
