I don't feel the same way you do about the Lagonda...SmileWavy

Personally I don't like where the 911 has gone since the death of the 993. The runny-egg headlights were downright horrible, and later iterations are still too jellybean-like. The Boxster was and still is an eyesore.

IMNSHO. :D

Not really an Astin as a Scion.

Yes, Yes, Yes!!! Now I need a ciggie.

IMO, they should've hidden the headlights when not in use. Then it would be gorgeous.

Always liked the Fiat 124 Spider,

I bought a 124 Spider with 20k miles, silver w/tan interior & new top, from the original owner - a hot-looking college co-ed. What little I knew about handling in those days, I really liked the car, the instruments, and the exhaust tone. Put a set of pricey tires on her and she looked great in my apt. carport. Came out the very next morning and she was up on cinder blocks...
Also, the top was sliced open. Boo!

Hmm...I can see that. Yes.

How about this one?

Hideaway headlights do not by themselves make a car beautiful.....the TR7 had hideaway headlight and was among the most mis-styled cars ever made.

But seriously,
I wouldn't say the convertible version of this car is the most attractive ever styled, but in comparison to the fixed-head coupe, it is such a dramatic improvement as to be noteworthy.

I'm not generally a fan of hidden headlights. 80's square sealed beams maybe an exception.

the Iso Grifo is a definite candidate - it looks even better from the side - maybe perfect

scroll down and look for the red on the LH side

That Iso and the Alfa Montreal strike the same chord in my gut. Love them both.
I almost bought a black Montreal but the interior showed major deferred attention.

I considered the Iso Grifo before going with the 944. The Iso definitely beats out the Miura. The Miura does win on sound with its 12 cylinders.

Glad you brought this era of Mazda RX up, Not the MOST beautifully styled. But certainly one of the best of that segment of the market by far, I love them.

Cheers Richard

This era RX started me on the slipery slope... I went out shopping for one of these... and brought a 944 home... recently sold off the 944 and perchased a Miata... I'm a sick man... a very, very, sick man.
