There are lots of cool looking or pretty cars that are just something to park in a museum as driving them is horrible. I have ridden in a Ferrari Daytona and it was horribly HOT, loud and uncomfortable. But sure was pretty.
Same thing for a Porsche 904. Great looking car, but little bitty cramped, HOT and loud. I would love to have either one stored in a climate controlled facility, as my investment, it will never happen. I just love my 911. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1629731719.jpg Every single time I see it in my garage I smile. It is wonderful to drive, and it has tripled in value since I bought it. I can drive it on 5,000 mile journeys and it just runs and drives great. Not just a pretty face, but a fun toy to boot. |
While I previously gave my opinion - the incomparable E-type - this American icon deserves to be mentioned in any discussion of the height of automotive styling excellence. To this day, the "shield" grille remains iconic. (Of course, it doesn't look complete without some guys in dark suits leaning pointing tommy guns out the windows, but what the heck...)
It's not always about the swooply lines and streamlining of GT and sports cars. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1629734364.jpg |

Here is the Countach in naked form. Wedgie-McWedgie http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1629742675.jpg Here is the 66 Miura. Phallic McPhallic. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1629742782.jpg Kinda tough to narrow it to just a single car. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1629742982.jpg |
Just a few of the most beautiful in my opinion based on todays mood. It could be completely different tomorrow. I could never pick just one. Some of these marks have three and four models and more just as beautiful.

Way too many to limit it to a single automobile, but here's one that makes my top ten ...

My thanks to drcoastline for the photographic reminder. The M-B 280SE Cabrio is a personal favorite.
I saw one "in person" recently and I was truly gobsmacked. The car just defines posh. I am seriously considering starting the search to make one of these my own. The only problem - and it is a very big one - is that I would have to sell my 911 to make garage space. (It is unfortunately impossible for my garage to be physically expanded.) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1629772219.jpg |
