Btw, here's an HD version:

Noting the prior comment on the proportions of a person to the car when driving an E-type, the driver of the Eagle E-type sits considerably lower. Between that, and the differently raked windscreen it looks better proportioned to the driver.

Sooo much nicer than the "gone in 60 seconds" elanor car. That movie car was too busy. The real car is simple and clean.

Passed on of these on the highway today. Pictures just don't do it justice. The 1950s belonged to America, in terms of car design, IMO.

And as to the original question, I really like the Miura, but I just don't love it. Not in the way I love the 911. I think I may be the only person on the planet who doesn't love it.

I still think the 911 is the best looking car ever made.

That red GT350 up there looks similar to my college room mate's GT500. When he got a 3.0 average his rich daddy bought him a '67 in the Spring of '68. I remember that car as my first experience of wicked acceleration...and it did scare him.
I'd tug the harness as tight as I could and the acceleration would create a gap between my chest and the harness.
I also remember my face feeling like it was getting flattened. It was a chick mobile, too!!!
Fun times, then.

Is there a budget category?

Always liked the Fiat 124 Spider, Mazda MX-6 '93-97, Mazda RX-7 '92-02...

Sorry about the fart-can, but otherwise a nice pic.

In terms of everything I would think. But that's another discussion for another thread.

Yes, the Fiat 124 Spider would be at the top of my budget category.

So true but we overlook them because we own them. That shape was a stroke of genius by Butzi.

Let me throw this out there: has Aston Martin ever made an ugly car? I can't think of one. The 70s cars, even while having a whiff of Mustang in the fastback, still look gorgeous today. Even the Lagonda, for all of its size and angularity, still has a charm about it.

I mean, every car maker has had its duds - Lamborghini had the Espada and the LM002, Ferrari had the 365 and more recently the FF, Porsche has had the Panamera and Cayenne. But I can't think of an ugly Aston Martin.

maybe not the prettiest, but like the 911, (356, 914, 944, 928) form follows function.
