Has anyone here driven a Muira?

I agree that it is in the top ten most beautiful cars of all time... however I seem to remember seeing a review somewhere that said it was a dog to drive... anyone else hear that?

When it comes to road-going cars, this is a personal favourite.

Race cars are in general designed rather than styled, but as some of you are posting race cars, for me, it'd be a wingless Honda RA301 or RA300(I love the 300's exhaust, and the 301's nose, hence the hard time choosing).

Today, I'm sure that's very true, but I like to think that Colin Chapman drew a few lines just for the sake of style on his magnum-opus:

That Panterra is an All-American car, evidenced by the pushing of a big flat grill.
(But still a ferrign EYEtalian Lambo knock-off)

I like it.

Just like the XKE and the Stingray it is hard to find pictures that do these cars justice,

I miss my 944 soooooo much, the Miata is fun in a gocart sorta way... but I fear one day it will be replaced by another Porsche (Boxster/Cayman or 996)

The sound behind you is awesome, and unlike most italian cars I've been in, the interior switches and position of wheels/shifter/pedals all make sense. My head is leaned forwards resting against the ceiling due to its slope back, but if I were a little shorter, np. Visibility is a little off, but otherwise, I'm befuddled by a review like that. It may be some one drove a real dog...

I've had 944's for over 8 years, and when cleaned up and shiney, I still stop and admire them pretty much everytime I catch a glimpse of my own car parked outside. There are lots of good looking cars out there in the world, but the 944 is the one that does it for me. The 50's/60's had some very special cars to, but its harder to pick just "one" out.(Which would be the purpose of this thread)

Or Miami Vice!

Saw one of these on Colorado Blvd... the sound was truly memorable... even in SoCal everyone stopped to look.

I remember talking with a lady at a party "it was a corvette", "uh, no, it was a Ferrari."

I looked her in the eye and realized the futility and left it at that.

+1 on the E-Types, especially the early Coupes! Especially, especially in British Racing Green!

IIRC, the Muira is the first or one of the first mid-engined production super-cars. I've never driven one, but have heard it handled really well.

I purposefully titled this thread styled as we all know the very best all around sports car is the 911 and that has been true for 40 years now - handling, braking, speed, sound, feel, interior and luggage space -- nothing beats that overall combo.

The Daytona Fcar is very modern and the rear and side 3/4 rear views are nice but the front end has always bugged me...

Props to the 2002 - I loved mine - and to the Alfa GTV also.

I say styled because it pisses me off that stylists claim they are "designing" a car. Engineers design things, not stylists
Wow. I'm glad I caught this thread. The design, err I mean, styling firm I own has been operating under false pretenses all this time. Since we don't produce technical drawings, it looks like we've just been styling all this time without any regard for engineering or construct-ability.
I'm going to forward your declaration to the various publications we subscribe to in the studio as well, since they are clearly mistaken when they refer to themselves as design magazines.
