Panasonic Viera
I freaked out when I came home from a thrash on the mountain bike to find a little white spot in the middle of my reasonably new Panasonic Viera TV.
I turned the set on and it persisted started the wiping bars and the spot was still there. Checked the internet and the first forum thread that comes up someone posted "is there light hitting the back of the display"? Yes. Go to the TV and wave my hand around behind the display and magically the spot goes away. The internet is wonderful most of the time!

I have one and have not experienced that yet. Love the TV so far. Is yours wall mounted?

No I had built a bench/stand for it.
So far it has been a great TV. Small amount of burn in from the sports channel that I watch in the morning. With our new look Flames, I probably won't need to check it very often anymore!

Reminds me of my Samsung, would not power on. Went to the Internet and found the issues were several capacitors. Got the parts and soldered the new ones in. All fixed for $15
