Chapron only built about 1400 of the Decapotable DS altogether. They used the Safari platform, not the saloon platform. The injection DS23 had a high top speed, but accelaration was only what you'd expect from a 2.3 litre 4 cylinder engine pulling a large (for Europe) car. The saloon roof panel was made of fibreglass.

Travelled several hours to a kids soccer game in Saratoga NY last weekend and kept seeing old Citroens in town. Turns out the hotel across the street was hosting the North American Citroen meet so I wandered and appreciated some other air cooled enthusiasts and took some pictures.
I happened to be near a different classic Citroen meet in in France a few years ago (does this happen to anyone else that some cool classic car thing appears smack in the middle of a family committment?) and the one last weekend had 3x the number and variety powered heavily by the Quebecois who came down in high numbers. It was odd to see so many different models/years together but fun to appreciate people preserving history. ![]() ![]() ![]()
