How many times has someone seen your vehicle and made a judgment call like that?

Night and day back when I had both a full sized van and a motorcycle.

People would see my big orange van and stop their rolling stops and let me pass.

On the motorcycle they would see me, and judge that they were bigger and just cut in front of me. They saw me, make no mistake about it. The pause, the decision, the going ahead anyway thing even after eye contact.

I get it in the Porsche sometimes, bullies with SUV's thinking they have the right of way based on mass.

The dark car saw the white car and said to himself, I'm bigger - they will have to stop.

The white car had no idea what the dark car had in mind, but he was speeding based on the residential neighbor hood and speed of the dark car.

That Lambo was speeding but not excessively so. He looked to accelerate and dodge to the R when the guy turned in front of him and crossed the double line. They both contributed to the wreck, but I don't see how you could find the majority of the fault with the Lambo guy. He appeared to be speeding, but never crossed the center line, was going straight and he took evasive action. The other guy failed to yield the right of way and made an illegal turn. No way that white car was going more than 50-60 MPH. It was just really dramatic because the moron hit the thing in just the right spot to break the drivetrain loose from the rest of the car

I don't think the impact of the cars ripped the Lambo apart,

I suggest that it broke in half when it hit the TREE sideways. We just can't see it.

We had a couple of Ferraris split in half on the Pcific Coast Highway trough Malibu in the last few years. Splitting in half, is that an Italian car thing?

Yep, the tree split the Lamborghini in half. Looks like it hit the tree at the aft part of the pass door.

The carbon monocoque is designed to shear from the business end to protect the passenger cell. F1 cars are the same.

Its a fashion thing. Ducati started it with the frames on their early model Super Sports.

Nice. I hope other car manufacturers take notes. There's a huge difference between a go cart and a passenger vehicle.

The Lambo is hauling ass! The car shows up at 0:13 and crashes at 0:16. In those 3 seconds it sure looks like it easily went 100m. That is 33 m/s or approx. 75 mph. That's assuming the last second was spent at full speed. If you imagine it shed some speed the last 1/3 or 1/2 the way when it saw the dark car or at the latest when the car started turning. Lambo could have easily started out at 100 mph. It may be me, but the first few pixels, it sure moves!

It will be easy to determine speed for someone that can measure the landmarks on the street and combine that information with the video. The cops sure should.

Partial fault for the Lambo b/c of speeding, IMHO. Not cool to open it up in town I say.

Mark, my TT was hit similarily ( car suddenly turned left into my path), only my speed was 40 mph, and the "at fault" driver says they were going 15mph ( personally think they were going at least as fast as myself). My right front took the impact, the Chevy Cruz lost most of it's left side. The TT sustained $50K in damage, both airbags went off.....but it was a tank...stopped dead in it's tracks at the point of impact.

I truly think fault is 50/50. Lambo should have been going slower in the residential area. Black car driver should have yielded right-of-way.

I don't think he was driving that fast at all. The car turning slowing distorts the perception of speed. I would like to see video of other cars passing by before the accident to get a better feel for the speed involved.

As for slowing down after impact, the Lambo hit a glancing blow....not a whole lot of momentum being transferred with a hit like that.
