Yup. It's not a 3.6 either, the 3.6 wasn't until 2002. It does have the later style nose and headlights so maybe the year is a typo? Also no such thing as an R3 suspension on a 911, he's thinking RX8 apparently.

Any bets on where the BAT turbo ends up? Seller seems great, interior color is love/hate. Seems like a terrific car that isn't too pristine to actually use but has plenty of life left in it.

I'll wager $37,500. Good overall condition, good maintenance, tasteful upgrades, decently low mileage.

Given where the C4S ended up, I see this going for $43k. It's not a one owner, pampered car but it is a turbo.

BAT turbo sold for $45k. Are these recent sales indicators that the market for 996's might be on the uptick or just anomalies due to the auction aspect and BAT exposure?

That was a very nice car. Still lots of cheap 996's around. They certainly aren't dropping in value.

That's pretty impressive. I've seen nicer cars sell for less money.

Not shopping but just bored and surfing autotrader, not a huge fan of cabs but but curious what y'all think of this:
{Just prepping for the day I AM shopping for my next fun car}

Cars for Sale: 2000 Porsche 911 Carrera in Aliso Viejo, CA 92656: Convertible Details - 422466106 - Autotrader

Tip C2 cabs are the least desirable 996's.

Manual C2 cabs are next up the list.

That car is abut $2,500 too high.

Yup, I've seen coupes with less miles for the same money. Though being in CA and this being prime buying time for convertibles, they might get close.

Used 2004 Porsche 911 for Sale in Ft. Wayne, IN 46805 Derek Motorcar Co.

Does a auto feel slow in a turbo?

An Tip turbo is a fast car, but you do have some lag between the gears, up or down. The 987/997 Tip shifts faster.

I drove a 997TT tip locally before buying my manual. I did not notice much difference between the 996 tip and the 997 tip. I suppose you could live with a tip in a turbo...but certainly NOT in a C2 or C4. Manual shifting makes the whole experience more fun.

I have a friend looking for a 996 turbo. Would like it to be 2002 or newer and manual. Seen any good ones I can froward along?!

rfuerst911sc 03-27-2016 02:28 PM

This looks like a lot of car for the buck. No affiliation just stumbled across it today. If I didn't have the S this one might be in my garage.

I am going to go look at this one in 20 minutes. This is by far the cheapest I have seen so far with a popped motor, and it is right in my back yard.
Guy bought it for an ls swap , never moved forward with the project
