This looks like a huge amount of car for the money - lower mile 996tt cab. Why is the price so low? Is it the Tip that kills it?
Love the Lapis Blue - but obviously I'm biased.

61K miles, Tip, light color interiors wear faster, possible not much known history, quick sale needed, etc. It could be a number of things. But as Matt has said in this thread, 60k miles should not scare anyone with these Turbos. PCA magazine just did a story of a 500K mile 996TT with a Tip, and if i remember correctly the g-box was the only thing they didn't touch!
I just picked up this '03 two weeks ago. 22,100 miles, full history from two previous owners, both were commercial pilots, traded in for a Cayman GTS. X73 suspension with engine mounts installed and aligned by a Porsche Premier dealer, black interior, heated sports seats, sunroof (sorry Matt), short shift kit, Europipe "Quiet" exhaust (a little louder than stock but not Ricey). $49K cash. I am really happy with this car. I can't believe I was so hard-headed before as to not consider one due to it being a 996. Never liked the interior or headlights, but it has grown on me very, very fast. It would make very little sense spending $15K to $20K more for a 50K mile 997TT.

That's a good looking car, but $24,500 is optimistic for a cab. Especially without the IMS done...

That could be. I've known the owner for over 10 years. He's an enthusiast who has taken very good care of the car. He knows everyone will ask about the IMS and would have addressed it if the clutch had needed a rebuild but it didn't. He priced it a little below what he has seen others advertised for so we'll see how it goes. There's always room for haggling. If he's aiming high, he can adjust expectations.

I've recently started going through this thread. A turbo 996 would be my first choice but the C4S seems attractive as well. What's the opinion on this as advertised?

I'm still so confused on this IMS "update" issue. I have a 99' and have had two mechanics mention now that I shouldn't do the update, "not worth it for my year." If I thought it was a must I would drop the transmission and do it today, but I have a dealer installed clutch about 20k ago and it's perfect. The 996 has about 72k miles on it at this point, and I don't really worry about this. Am I crazy?

I recently purchased almost that identical car (sans the wheels)from a fellow pelicanite.Mine is a 2005.(don't see the year on the one you are looking at)After buying tires I have about that in mine. They are beautiful cars and if you drive it you will buy it! I let my 29 yo son drive it yesterday. I have never seen him with such a shat eating grin! All he could say was wow.I think that car cured him of his Mustang fever. Dave
