1985 Pontiac T-1000. The car was so lackluster, it was replaced with the Le mans. I even had a hard time finding a picture of one on the internet.

The TR7 reminds me way back about 30 years ago a friend of mine let me drive it and I believe that there were 3 of us in it. However if I remember right there were only 2 seats. We were shoehorned into it. I took a long sweeping curve at too high speed(would have been no problem for my 2001 Boxster) and halfway through the curve it did a little dance but managed to stay on the road. The 3 of us were really quiet for about 5 minutes after that.

Now I only do high speed driving if I am by myself and there is no traffic around...
Scary POS that one!

Back in the 80's my then brother in law bought a TR7, actually traded a Buick regal straight across for it......It died 10 miles from home on this first trip and never started again!!!!!!

That's just the Pontiac version of the Chevy Chevette. Yeah, way up/down on the bad list, but certainly not the worst.

When I lived in Israel, I owned a Autobianchi A112 it was a pretty bad car.... and weird.. The shifter was a rod that came out of the dash, that you pulled rotated pushed etc. to select a gear..Had no power and I think it had brakes.. While driving it sounded like pieces were constantly falling off... and it rattled and shook at any speed...

I've spent a fair bit of time in Costa Rica.... and driven a Tico many times....sporting a breathtaking 796ccs of three cylinder might.... like... Might this thing get up to 50kph perhaps 90 kph?

The Tico was possibly as craptastic as the Autobianchi..

Forgot about this one also, a Toyota Yaris with a trunk we rented about three years ago. Had the WORST automatic transmission in any car I've ever driven. This thing couldn't make up its mind which gear it wanted to be in. It was really annoying especially going up and down hills. You couldn't tell anything about the feel of the well designed VVT engine mated to the dumbest gearbox in the world.

Having spent the last few days with my in-laws, who only exclusively purchase Buicks, I am tempted to nominate one of these (any of these) cars for this thread. For the benefit of sandman, I would nominate their Rendezvoux (cousin to the Aztek) but mercifully they have disposed of it.

OP I have you beat. If we're talking new POS cars I've had many in my hands from places I've lived overseas. I'm talking Chery QQ, Fiat Palio, Citron ? etc.

However nothing compares to the Chevrolet Celta in Brazil. Cough up 15k usd and it gets you the cheapest car with AC you can buy in Brazil. 1.0l engine, no PS, no power anything. If you're lucky you get a radio made by some local or Chinese mfg. that works occasionally. Early 90s flimsy plastic everything.

Need to use the wipers in a heavy downpour? They won't work.
Gas gauge says you have a 1/4 tank. Guess what? You just ran out of gas in Sao Paulo traffic during rush hour.
100 degree weather and need AC? Push the AC button and it falls into the dash. No AC for you buddy.

Other mfgs have low end cars at the same price point (ex. VW Gol) that are 10 times the car. GM building this car and putting their name on it turns me off GM for life. Will never buy a car from the General.

They even have a trim level on the Celta called "Life". This is from Wiki:

"The Chevrolet Celta has been rated as highly unsafe by Latin NCAP, scoring only one star for adult occupants and two stars for children.[1] Unfortunately, this is the safety standard of low-cost Brazilian cars"

Underpowered cars can have their place. After all, it's more fun to drive a slow car fast than to drive a fast car slow.

I've not met an Aztek owner who wasn't gah gah over their car.
They go on and on about how they love it.

Strange but true.

I've also noticed they all have significantly diminished visual acuity.

That little wheeled thing they build in India for domestic use only. It is marketed as a step up from a scooter, but I forget the name of it.

I like that show, too. I've always called that car the "Asstek".
