Alan Hamilton, a corporal with the Sumter County sheriff's office who was in the theater with his wife, said he heard Oulson saying, at one point, "I am trying to text my f**king daughter, if you don't mind" -- using graphic language that Reeves' lawyer said suggested Oulson was angry and threatening.

Popcorn flew in Reeves' direction soon thereafter.

"And almost immediately," recalled Turner, who said Oulson threw the bag, "the gun comes out and there (was a shot) fired."

A lone bullet, according to several witnesses, struck the 43-year-old Navy veteran, who worked at a local powersports store, in the chest.

Oulson then stumbled and said, "I can't believe he shot me," before falling on Cummings' son, the witness recalled.

A nurse who also happened to be in theater then testified -- as Oulson's widow, Nicole, wiped away tears -- about his unsuccessful efforts to save Oulson's life.

According to Turner, Reeves himself said, "Throw popcorn in my face."

Hamilton said he acted quickly to take the gun from Reeves -- who was sitting, as he'd been during the shooting -- and subdue him right after the shooting.

Before more authorities arrived, Reeves' wife told her husband "that was no cause to shoot anyone," according to Hamilton, who was then off duty.

Reeves responded by pointing his finger at her and saying, according to Hamilton, "You shut your f**king mouth and don't say another word."

The off-duty corporal said that at one point, Reeves pushed back his glasses and said out loud, "Holy f**k, what have I done?"

^ I read that...It's in the lawyers hands now.

The Widow was just on The View saying there was no popcorn thrown...

From here on out, both sides are going to be lying thanks to their lawyers.

"There is no justification for what happened in there. If I had it to do over again, it would have never happened," Curtis Reeves told Pasco County sheriff's detectives in a taped interview hours after the Jan. 13 shooting, played at Reeves' Friday bond hearing. "But you don't get do-overs."

Subdue him? He was sitting quietly, did not need to be subdued.

Did the widow testify in court already? I wonder if they will charge her with perjury, probably not.

This is all I could find on the widow's comment:

"It was a couple of words. No threats. No harm. No nothing," Nicole Oulson said on ABC. "We're both very respectful when the movie is on, that we put our phones away, so he took a couple of seconds just to check the phone to make sure there were no messages about our daughter."

Is there some other program or comments that point to her denying popcorn was thrown?

Having looked at the video several times now . I see the shooter had a box of popcorn in his left hand and was sitting with his gun already in his right hand. No move was made to draw the gun it must have been in his hand already.
Seems to me the shooter pushed the popcorn box towards the victim ,who grabbed it and tossed it back at the shooter.
Then in the same move the shooter fires . Shooter never even rose from his seat. The shooter appears to have already decided to provoke the issue and was prepared to finish with a shot.
Bail denied again.

Not looking good for pops. That's for sure.

The video shows no fists flying. Worse, it shows many many rows of empty seats. It would have been extremely easy to go move up 5 rows and not worry about what folks are doing further down.

It is almost like pops was out that day to go stir up trouble.

I don't understand the "widow is cashing in" comment. Seems pretty heartless. My wife sure would come down hard on my killer, no matter the circumstances. And even if it is solely for $$$. Don't you think the lady may need the money, having to raise her family by herself now?

Tampa, FL -- Just hours before she's expected to take the stand at the bond hearing for Curtis Reeves, Nicole Oulson was taking to the airwaves.

Oulson was a guest Thursday on the national TV talk show, The View.

"In zero to 60, my whole world just changed... it was shattered for no reason," she told the show's hosts.

Oulson says she has no recollection of whether popcorn was thrown during an argument between Reeves and her husband, Chad.

Nicole Oulson, wife of movie theater shooting victim, appears on "The View" | wtsp.com

Of course, she's not going to say that her husband threatened the old man...Everything she's saying to the public are her lawyer's words.

And vice versa for the Reeves.

Interesting that Reeves wife testified she didn,t hear any threats by Oulson.
(From the video) When Reeves walked back to his seat( after being in the lobby). He probably already had his gun out because I can,t see any draw motion before the shot . Reeves had the popcorn box in his left hand and pushed it towards Oulson, then Reeves took the box and threw it back at the exact same time he was shot.
Hard to believe Reeves didn,t know what was happening.

Thanks for the link.

Still, it doesn't support the statement posted that the widow denied that popcorn was thrown--she simply stated she didn't recall seeing it happen. To claim she did deny it, and to jump to a question as to if she may have committed perjury (as another poster asked) is an example of how easily factual information can quickly can change into misinformation.

He does not have the gun out when he returns, you can see him pick up the popcorn with his right hand, transfer it to his left then put his right hand on the arm of the seat as he sits down.

Looks like Reeves pulls the gun just after Oulson threw the cell phone at him and just before Oulson grabs Reeves popcorn and throws it back in his face.

This is the most common conclusion I've heard from people who've seen the video. Put some things together: The defense offered an enhanced version that makes it appear Oulson threw his cell phone at Reeves. Then we have the statement of a witness claiming Reeves said to throw the popcorn. Next we see in the video, Reeves appear to push the popcorn forward, Oulson grab the popcorn from Reeves' left hand, throw it back, and in a fraction of a second, with one smooth movement, Reeves pulls the gun and shoots.

At this point, I think an argument could be made that Reeves set up Oulson for the shot. If the defense claims Oulson threw a cell phone before the popcorn, why didn't Reeves shoot then? Why did he goad Oulson to throw popcorn at him? How could Reeves have fired almost simultaneously with the throw without a drawing motion unless the gun was on his lap? How does all this new information ( thrown cell phone, goading to throw the popcorn, pushing the popcorn forward) square with Reeves' claim he was hit by an unknown object and shot out of fear?

With what is out now, I cannot be convinced that Reeves didn't know what he was doing, and that fear of attack was not a factor.

Unless he has 3 hands he did not have the gun out before sitting down.

Does not look like he is pushing the popcorn forward, he is leaning forward, popcorn in left hand and pulling his piece from his waistband after getting hit with the cell phone.

Agree, things are open to interpretation. He may have drawn the weapon when you said. He may not have pushed the popcorn forward. But if the witness's claim that he said to throw the popcorn is true, then it appears he waited until that happened before firing. There goes his claim of being hit by an unknown object--he knew it was popcorn, even if he never said to throw it, he knew Oulson took it from him. If the unknown object was the phone, why did he not shoot then? Why wait several seconds until the popcorn is thrown unless he wanted to be ready by putting the gun on his lap?

BTW, does anyone know for a fact if Reeves walked into the theater with the gun? I mean, is it possible when he went to get the manager, he actually went to get his weapon instead? Just asking.

The first thing that every victim's spokesperson/lawyer always says after something like this is, "please respect the family's privacy and allow them to grieve "or words to that effect. That being said, they go on local radio shows and now national TV. I live here, I've hear her and her attorney make the rounds on the local media. She's posturing for the trail and the civil suit.
