Yep...a man who would throw his cell phone at a stranger in a movie theater isn't the least bit agressive/threatening.

Sad but seemingly true.

Throwing a cell phone is something an enraged teenager would do.

So why did a grown male throw it? Seems really stupid.

The inference in your remark does you no credit at all. It seriously calls your character into question. Are you so wedded to your gun fixation that you cant even consider the possibility of a gun being used inappropriately, that it actually strips you of any empathy you have as a human being to the harm caused to another human being?

What the F is wrong with that guy. Shot the damn guy?!?! Just get up and leave. He's a headcase and should be in jail for the rest of his life.

Looking at the video... The old guy is done.

Here is what Reeve said to the police, in the police car, after the shooting:

"Suddenly he's virtually on top of me. I reach in my pocket. I'm stretched out trying to get away from him. I'm either saying 'no no no' or 'whoa whoa whoa.' Suddenly my head was to the right. He hit me with his fist or something. I assume it was his fist and something is wrong with my left eye. . . . I was kind of dazed — had to be from the strike. I felt like I had something in my eye. Still do."

This was stated before anyone knew there was video of the incident. Not close at all to what is on the video, IMO.

Keep in mind also, the phone being thrown is just a claim by the defense at this time, based on a bright spot on the video. It may or may not prove to be true.

Actually, he should get the chair.

Extra crispy.

When they throw the switch on that POS...I'm going to unplug my refrigerator just to make sure they have enough juice!

I couldn't view the video, but it sounds like Reeves's goose is rightly cooked. Don't drop the soap.

But why the hell would an ex-cop give any kind of statement to the police, much less a whole recap of the event? He has to have known there was nothing he could say that was going to help his case and, even when an on-duty cop is involved in a justified shoot, he STFU until he has a lawyer.

Mmmm...then they will at least have enough current to cook his goose...;-)

I wonder if there is going to be a closer look into pop's past and any shootings he may have been involved in during his time in the force?

Because it happened exactly the way he described it.

Wink, wink. Nudge, nudge.

I take a little solace that he'll be in jail for the rest of his life and his "friends" will make his life hell. I would prefer he get the electric chair. Society has no place for people like this.

Assault, even if it is popcorn or a cell phone against a senior citizen in Florida is a felony. His defense will be he was defending himself from a felony attack and the force was justified.

Shaun @ Tru6 02-08-2014 03:30 AM

Using that defense in court will get him life in prison.SmileWavy

Be polite and kind to strangers folks.

The way your parents raised you to be.

Still, it doesn't support the statement posted that the widow denied that popcorn was thrown--she simply stated she didn't recall seeing it happen. To claim she did deny it, and to jump to a question as to if she may have committed perjury (as another poster asked) is an example of how easily factual information can quickly can change into misinformation.

Nicole's recollection of events, is much different.

"I can't honestly say popcorn was thrown. There was conversation, the gentleman confronted my husband several times which he ignored, and ignored and ignored," she said.

Like URY914, I also live here. She is posturing for the trial. Every time I hear her speak, I know those are her lawyers' words.

Maybe we have a judge similar to Judge Boyd from the Affluenza trial...
