Just in from CNN

"The objects are of "reasonable size" and are bobbing up and down the surface of the water, said John Young, general manager of emergency response for the Australian Maritime Safety Authority."

And more from CNN.

"An Australian maritime search official says the largest object he's seen in satellite imagery has been judged to be about 78 feet (24 meters) in size.

He described the object as "a blob" on the satellite image."

You're welcome.

Tony is swimming out there himself, all oiled up in cap and budgie smugglers, to tow it back in himself with his huge swinging tow attachment.

Maylasia asked China to search with air assets only. Makes me wonder if there was something Malaysia didn't want China to know about on the plane.

China might keep what it finds.

It's happened before.

The area is known for high winds, and white capped waves could obscure debris, Waddock said.
And on top of that, a storm is approaching the area. It may have foiled one flyover...........................

It has a reputation for housing a collection of floating garbage from around the world, and it could intermingle with plane parts that may be there.
It seems to me that the floating garbage islands (typically a meter below the surface) may keep aircraft debris afloat longer.
