I'm a bad boy.

I'm sure you doan remember but I was at your place about a hundred years ago with the OCPCA. (OK 8 or 10 years ago).
You gave us a tour and I was IM-pressed and that was just with the view!
Nice tight steep road gettin there, darn near one lane at a time.

I'll consider chroming it just as soon as your new Gibson rocks some new stickers.

The older I get the less I remember so going back 8-10 years is tough. You are correct, we are blessed with a pretty cool view.

One thought, we're pretty happy hiding out on our hill top, so keep the directions to yourself..... Generally we blindfold people before escorting them onto the compound.......lol

Mr Henry, what was the original colour of the Lotus? We gots to know...

In the Spoon world ORIGINALITY IS EVERYTHING. As such one is a purist, a resto should be accurately done...historically correct, the way it left the factory. Anything less is an excuse that has to be made to the next purchaser. That said...

I however do think that the Limey Green is a nice colour, and the car will be beautiful with it. So for our edification please tell us?

JUST TO BE CLEAR:
I like the truth, so as one truth teller: It might very well have been some shade of red but I don't "know" what color it was "originally".

Nice choice

My former in-laws recently moved to 92028. I'll probably take my son there sometime this summer.
I'd enjoy meeting and checking out the Apollo and Lotus. Oh, and meet you too, Henry!

I haven't read the whole thread, was red the original color?

"ORIGINALITY IS EVERYTHING" and there in lies the envy. In the world of collecting, OWNERSHIP IS EVERYTHING. Anything else is just spectating. Enjoy what you collect and ignore the kibitzers.

My guess is the color was selected in remembrance of an old girlfriend.
Am I close? That's what we really want to know.....lol

Actually, I'm getting tired of the concern for "original color". Who cares?
[/img]

Normally I would agree with you, My Miata (that ironically was patterned after your Lotus) was originally.... wait for it... British racing green!

Only my absolute favorite colors for a Miata!

Although the custom respray was very well done and it is a very nice medium dark blue metallic, I have got some compliments on it.

Beautiful cars, Henry!

DanielDudley 03-30-2014 03:43 AM

I remember when you thought about selling that car. Nobody loved the color then.

Well, it cleaned up nicely. Makes me think I should have jumped on it.

I'm not sure what the motivation is but right now I have two green cars. Who knows?

There's a pretty good chance she'll be for sale again. The Lotus is just too small for me. Feels a little like driving a formula car with doors. I have actually driven formula cars with a larger foot box.
