Speeder, you almost convinced me. I actually have always admired the 505 wagon for some reason.

There were lots of 405' s in Australia. They were quite popular, but they are worth nothing now. Friends of mine had them for a while and I saw their weaknesses.

BUT DONT EVER BUY a 405 with an automatic transmission. They are a ticking time bombs. The French dont ever seem to get the Auto Trans bit right!!!

The 504 & 505's generally had good simple German ZF auto trans in them and the later Peugeots moved on to Japanese Aisin boxes which were/are much more reliable.

The MI6 however is a good fast 4cyl car.

I saw an old 505 wagon in Billerica the other day. It was strange, this car seemed lost in time and place. It also seemed a lot smaller than my childhood recollection, Among SUVs and Japanese sedans. Quite rare too.

Sure wish I had this one back. 1985 505 turbo diesel, 100k miles, bought for $500. Cleaned it up, put $1500 in it and it ran like a champ.

I LOVE those cars. Used to practically live in the UK during the early 90's and always rented one.

Over the years I've had three... Diesel N/A 504 wagon... Diesel N/A 505 sedan...Gasoline Turbo 505 Wagon.... Any one of them I'd own again...Great cars, plenty of parts (was) , just takes a mindset to work on them...Even the smallest of electrical items like switches can be taken apart & cleaned/repaired. The diesel 505 sedan had 345,000 miles & the engine had NEVER been touched. Oil changes & filters only. They all drove & rode great.
