Peugeot 405

Anyone know of one that's pretty much in mint condition? Mi16 variant.
There was one on California on eBay with crazy low miles, missed out on it. On a hunt for one.

Not picky on Colours, but white and silver and black would be great.
Slightly more picky on interior, Preferably leather and black.

This is the one from ebay:

If you find one in the Sacramento area, I know someone who can look at it for you. My friends neighbor is a 405 nut. He has 4-5 right now that I can see in his garage/side yard and I have talked to him about rebuilding engines, etc.

We had one in the family growing up, dont remember it all that well but mom always said they were the most comfortable seats of any car.

I don't know the 405 but I drove a 406 for six months and it was a very good car. Super comfortable, cruised happily at 140-160 kph, good fuel economy (diesel), roomy - perfect road trip car.

Yeah I've seen this one. Looking for something alittle better and black leather.

They are awesome, comfortable cars. Built like tanks with good styling. That's why.

I imagine owning an old Peugeot in the USA could be a very pricey proposition.

Where do you source parts for a car like that?

Peugeot is the second largest auto maker in Europe, after VW. There is no shortage of any part for a Peugeot. And euro car part warehouses in the U.S., (like the ones that Pelican gets their parts from), carry all of the normal maintainance items for a modern Peugeot.

Seems odd, considering the number of Peuguots on the road here.

just my two cents worth here...but thought I would mention this in case you weren't in the states when these cars were for sale. These cars are now quite RARE. I don't know what the sales figures on this model were, but whatever it was, obviously wasn't strong enough to keep selling them here. That white one looks pretty decent for the money and is probably about as good as you'll find in the US; most were rusted to death or just plain junked for lack of parts or mechanics who knew how to fix them.
Spend another couple hundred and dye the interior black and change out the carpet.

:: Color Plus ::

Bet you come out way ahead and you get to drive the car now vs waiting months if not longer for another one to show up. Just a thought and good luck in you quest.

Well the one i saw on ebay may have been the only one like it or even the best one in the US.

It was in storage for years wheels off and stuff. it had some crazy low milage, silver, the front grill had the Peugeot sport Stripes the bmw M but with a yellow stripe in the middle.

If i remember correctly it was 7500$ or so.

So i know THAT one is here somewhere...

Found a pic of it!! this was it (i think):
