NICE!

Just FYI, the slippery slope for Jeeps is as bad as it is for Porsches... The parts cost less but there seem to be way more of them!

Bill I know....that is indeed hallowed ground.

But a big effing tree jumped in front of the 911 several years ago and right about that time the market went nutso. Long story but end result is I'm out of the 911 game for a while. I think if I can't be on the track with it then I don't want a race car and I'm just not a show n shine guy.

As with the boat that replaced the 911 this is a much more family friendly toy. My kids love it. Brought it home the other day and was surprised to see my wife jump right in fire it up and say 'lets go!'. She like the 911 but we weren't going to get any family time in it.

It's a 99 with 4.0 and 5spd. 33" tires with stock 3.07 gearing is already getting old so I've tracked down used f/r axles to swap in. it will be doing ice cream runs and beach duty for us.

Angela the Quadratec catalog is already on the way!

One thing I am finding with toy vehicles is that I've been spoiled by Pelican forums and how much they empower the average DIY guy. It's to the point that I look to see what the enthusiast forums offer before buying a toy any more.

Bill you can bet we'll be doing more beach fishing with this thing. I prefer to be in the boat but Assateague will be great in this. Just like I did as a teenager with my cousin in his YJ. Loved that Jeep when he got it and never forgot the smell and feeling of riding in it. Really is kinda tractor like which I love.

Once you purchase something from Quadratec, you will receive catalogs for the rest of your life....and they are the size of a city phonebook!

Nice Jeep and congrats on the sale of the bimmer. I had actually thought about contacting you about your bimmer, but it sold while I was still making up my mind about buying a sport wagon. Anyway, good for you.

Vash I love those 'problem/no problem' stickers you see on these. Truth be told the only real wheeling I think we have here is beach and some flat woodsy areas. I will eventually POR the crap out of the underneath (pretty clean right now) and get muddy.

Bought it from a guy who kept it garaged and I suspect this thing has been a mall cruiser its whole life. Transfer case was even disconnected when I test drove it. Seller was like 'man you are handy!' when I crawled underneath and started requesting tools to get it fixed.

SOOOOO nice to not need ramps to get underneath. The bimmer was no fun to get under.

I saw a bumper sticker on a 4x4 that said, "tighten up your seatbelt, I wanna try something" (paraphrasing)

Great buy. I love those things. A regular person cannot get one stuck.

Quadratec catalogs can be dangerous. They are like crack! Way too much stuff to buy.

Oh, man. I had Jeeps for a long time - have at least seven trips over the Rubicon Trail under my belt. It can be a whole lot of fun. I learned the hard way that you have to expect bent sheetmetal.

You can't go wrong with a jeep. Just change the oil and add the fuel. However the only thing you won't pass in it is a gas station. I wouldn't worry about the por on the undercarriage unless you don't have any sort of under coating, you'll prolly make more use with body armor.
Jeeps are a slippery slope. wait till you want to upgrade the axles and add air lockers, let alone a lift.

I miss mine, Here it is before it got crazy. When I sold it she had 35's on it and for a CJ5 that was just a tick too much, which made it just about right.
Note my son in the front and fishing poles in the back, that was standard operating procedure.
