Left pocket-phone
Right pocket -keys
Right rear pocket- wallet

Everything else: leave it at home, or give it to your SO (after all, she's carrying a purse).

Why, oh why? Well, it is a bit warm in NYC, too warm for a jacket, and all the stuff I carry doesn't fit in skinny jeans. I mean, my thighs hardly fit in my jeans. But in truth, the stuff wouldn't fit in regular jeans. Wallet, phone, various medications (conjunctivitis and allergy), external battery for phone, water bottle, book to read when wife enters furniture store, etc. You'd need full on cargo utilities to carry it all, your pockets would clank like the Tin Man, and trotting for an elevator would get you a water bottle uppercut to the testicles.

So I have a murse. It is a olive drab canvas shoulder bag. This is one of the protective coloration strategies of the murse. Just as generations of little boys were permitted to play with GI Joe because he was an "action figure" with a rifle, this breed of murse is presented as a rugged accoutrement of war, something that might carry fragmentation grenades or belts of 7.62, instead of an iPhone, wallet, and antibiotic hand cream. I wonder if people are fooled? I certainly feel more action figured with my combat murse.

Anyway, I found out that I don't really know how to carry a murse. Here is one instance. We went to a restaurant. The chair had a rounded back, so I couldn't hang my murse there. I didn't want to put it at my feet, since its theft would leave me destitute, nameless and iPhone-less, doomed to a life on the streets. My wife offered to set it on her bench, next to her purse. I didn't want the two bags to be seen touching. So I ate dinner with my murse cradled on my lap, like a Pomeranian. This looked odd, maybe, but the murse felt good there. I may have petted it.

Was that wrong? Please share your tips for carrying a murse. I know the answers are here. Don't we say PPOT can answer any question? I look forward to your constructive replies!
Let's get to the crux of the problem...you screwed up by scheduling your NYC trip during warm weather. Only travel during light jacket weather, unless you're going to the beach. Then, toss your stuff in a cooler.

Ooooh wait...I get it. The title is like asking..."when did you stop beating your wife?".

Left front pocket gets the wallet, right front gets car or bike keys. Left rear gets iPhone (when not sitting), right rear gets folded handkerchief. Right side of 6 o'clock belt loop gets IWB holster and sidearm. I only carry a bag onto an airplane or from my car/bike to the gym locker room. No shame in carrying Mrs. Lee's purse for her once in a while.

I think you get one free at Macy's from Elizabeth Arden when you spend $150 or more on makeup and feminine hygiene products.

Ooo, thanks for the tip. But what will I do with the feminine hygiene products?

Pull yourself together man!

1. Reduce.
2. If you really have to, get a backpack.
3. Or one of those saddleback leather bags.

I wear a 'fanny pack' at my side when I actually need to carry more than my phone and car keys.

I don't care who sees or know about this

started wearing a chromes messenger bag back in LA. had it for almost ten years and haven't worn it out. if it's a hipster man purse then it's a hipster man purse.

It's acceptable to carry any Murse made by Porsche Design.

I recently started carrying a bag when I travel because I carry more than I can shove into a laptop bag, but less than what would require a regular sized carry-on bag. It's great for under-seat or the small overhead compartments found in the RJ planes. It has internal pockets where I can keep my passport, visa docs, various currencies, cigar pouch, phone accoutrements, etc. And it holds my laptop and charger. It's bright purple and white; easy to see and keep up with. I wear it across the torso or off the shoulder - whatever suits the situation. I care about the utility, not about what people think.

Knapsack or fanny pack. I have a manly need to keep both hands free at all times. But I prefer cargo shorts.

For the record, I have no problem with whatever you carry. Just don't call it a Murse. It's a shoulder bag.
