What I found was the alcohol was covering up and taking the place of normal thinking, including handling problems, success, generally making decisions about everything. I quit the beginning of October, 1978 and it would not have been possible without a lot of help. Over the years I have had lots of things happen but so far none of them have been worth drinking over and that is the bottom line! Keep up the good work and be careful to not go too far the other direction.......

1 more congrats on your accomplishment.
I am lucky to never have been drawn into that addiction as we have several what I would consider alcoholics in my family and my wife's. Keep it going and know you have support here as well as your real life family.
