Me too, sorta. My family was a MoPar family. Everything we owned was a Chrysler product. There was always a tension between my dad and I. I wanted German cars and he wanted me to have MoPars. My first driver was a 1960 VW bug, and I had a '60 bus and a '63 bug, but I broke down and bought a '67 Barracuda that I drove while I "restored" my first '63/'64 Porsche. I bought a '64 that had been hit in the front and a '63 that had been hit in the back and welded them together. I drove it for 4 years, until I found my Speedster. I'd still like to have an old MoPar and I look at '56 and '57 Dodges on craig's list all the time. I'll pull the trigger on one some of these days.

This is my 78 Camaro at the drag strip around 1995 or so. SBC 400 ci with a shot of nitrous. Best ET was 11.76 at about 120mph in the quarter. It was a hoot but not for long drives. It had a 3500 stall converter and 4.10 gears. I think it ran at about 3500RPMs at around 60MPH.

A 1970 240Z that I bought in 1974 and drove for the next 10 years. When it wore out I put it in a barn for another 10 years and finally sold it to a "good home". Guy left it out to rust, so I just bought the remains back and will use it as a retirement project/money pit.

First was Early Broncos….Loved em. After, went to an H1 Hummer aka "The BIGGEST piece of $#!T I've ever owned". Good riddence to that pig! Then back to Broncos with some Porsche overlap. Looking for a bone stock 1960's Bronco now.

My 911 is my first true "hobby car". The "hobby" prior to this was keeping the daily drivers running (now it's just a chore):

'76 Audi Fox (gone)
'92 Audi 100
'99 Audi A6 Avant
'01 Audi A6 Avant

I went back and forth between Datsun Zs and highly lifted Toyota 4WDs during high school and then did a stint in muscle cars with a few 67-68 Camaros and then got a 914 in boxes for $500 and got it running then traded it for a '66 911, which was my first of 12 911s so far!

I've probably had 30+ cars during my driving life. Almost all were daily drivers I needed for transportation to get back & forth to work and/or school. I really didn't have the time or much money, since I was continually mostly working to get through school. The first project car I had was a '56 Austin Healey 100-4 that I put a Corvette V8 in back in the mid to late '60s. That was a big mistake. It would be worth big money in stock condition now. Strangely my all time favorite was a '65 VW bug I paid $400 for and mostly redid inside and out. I loved getting in that car, cranking the sun roof open & driving. It was stolen before I had time to install the 1776 I built for it. I had a few other cars I worked on over time. One was a '59 Tr3, which was a real favorite of mine also. After my VW was stolen, came the '67 912, which was a great little car, then my '72 911E, and my current is my '69 911E which I completely disassembled and rebuilt everything. It's still waiting to be finished.

Not that interesting I know. But I'm on to my 6th Corolla in a row. I just really love Corollas.

Back in the '70s I had a mark 1 two door Ford Escort that I used to drifty around every gravel corner I came across.

I had a 70 Pontiac Lemans and a 68 Dodge Dart GTS with the 383, but really didn't have a hobby until I sold my 78 Formula Firebird for a 77 BR green Datsun 280Z. I loved and beat on that car for a few years and then got married, had kids, and drove sensible, SUVs and minivans.

My wife finally told me about a black 78 280Z that was for sale near her office, and I had to get it. I drove that and bought many other Zs and ZXs to fix and sell, or just part out. My favorite was an original 71 240Z that I found locally. I got into Porsches when I couldn't find affordable rust free Datsun Zs any more.

I had an orange 83 944 for a couple years and then some tool ran a stop sign and about killed me (17 broken bones and a lacerated liver). While recovering 2 years ago, I found my current immaculate white 85.5 944 with the burgundy interior and 5 speed about 300 miles North of me near Niagra N.Y. It is currently in the garage with the interior stripped out so I can apply Dynamat to all the metal surfaces for a kickazz stereo system.

air cooled flat six in the back
I had a 1/2 dozen Corvairs
2 doors 65 or 66 for the better looking car plus the non-swing axle
thanks to nader they were cheap
so cheap it was eazyer to junk and replace them at 50 to $100 then repair them
most I ever paid was 200 for a 30k mile creampuff

once the vairs became hard to find
I got into older BMWs 1800, 1800ti and 1602, 2002
then a euro 914

never had a 911

This is my 94 Z28, bought from my best friend when he and his wife found out they were expecting their baby(she is now a senior in HS). I added most every bolt on you could get from Summit at the time but the engine was stock. The 6 speed gearbox was a great one to which I added a B+M short throw stick.

I took all of the Z badges off and surprised quite a few T/As and Mustangs. Low 13s with street tires was all I could get out of it but it was a lot of fun.

My 92 S10>stock except for a Dynomax exhaust. I sold it with 120,000 miles and it was still running great. 4.3 V6 with an automatic.
It did really good burnouts.

I had one too. Was yours that light Green color? That wagon got me into Opels for a while. I had a few Rallyes, GT and a Manta with an aluminum Buick V8. Cool little cars.
