I'll never forget. I was at work at the satellite factory that morning. By some strange coincidence I was on the phone with my good buddy Zeke who lives out in Missouri. I think we'd figured out a way to call each other on the company's dime and were talking, just catching up.
I remember noticing there was a commotion over at the conference room that was catty corner from my cubical across the room. I prairie dogged up to see what was going on. I could see into the conference room as the door was open and I could see they had the TV on. I told Zeke something was up in NYC and that he should turn on his TV if he had one available. Just then I saw the second plane fly into the tower, and yet the talking head on the TV just seemed to totally ignore it, like they weren't even watching what they were broadcasting. Then they did take notice and all heck began to break out.
I don't remember getting much work done the rest of the day. We may have been told to go home for all I remember. All I do know is that life would never be quite the same again.

Never forget...

This should be a national day of remembrance at the very least.

It's a shame that the country isn't as unified as it was.

I'll never forget the scenes of people jumping...only a part of it.

"She's always a woman"
I can't hear this song now and not think of the debri falling. At about 19 seconds in a person hits the ground. One could not dream up a more distopian situation.

Those that jumped really make me pause and reflect on the desperation they must’ve had.

Somewhere of 76, myself and two friends went into the city and we went to the top of the WTC. It was impressive

Our son works in one of the WTC buildings now. When I visit him a few weeks ago, I could see his building from Jersey City and said a prayer to protect him and everyone else there

I remember it very well. Was still in bed when my wife woke me to tell me a plane hit the world trace center. Here I was, still asleep thinking a small private plane had an accident. With my mine racing 100 miles an hour from the previous day, dad's lung surgery and didn't come home until 4 am. I was angry, and sad at the same time. Rushed back to the City Of Hope to tell my father what's happenning. Watching it on TV with him as he rests in bed sitting up.

What made me so sad is that on any given 9/11(or Dec. 7 for that matter), I would ask my kids if their history or any teachers mentioned anything about the event. Nope, not a fooking word. If someone miss gender someone, they pull their hair out. Sad.

This week marks 25 years since the September 11 terrorist attacks. Among the thousands of victims was 22-year-old Lisa Frost from Orange County, who had recently been named valedictorian of her graduating glass at Boston University. KTLA's Chip Yost talked to her father about his efforts to make sure his daughter is never forgotten.

This is a photo from the roof or my apartment building at 179 Prince St on the 6th month Anniversary of 9/11 (March 11, 2002) when they lit where the towers had been. Looking South from Soho NYC.

When the Twin Towers fell on September 11, 2001, among the thousands killed was the one man who may have known more about Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda than any other person in America: John O'Neill.

This 2002 FRONTLINE documentary chronicles John O'Neill's struggle to convince the FBI to pay attention to the threat posed by Al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden. The former head of the FBI's flagship antiterrorism unit in New York City, O'Neill had investigated the bombings of the U.S. embassies in Africa and the USS Cole in Yemen. For five years, he led the fight to track down and prosecute Al Qaeda operatives throughout the world. But he was a controversial figure inside the buttoned-down world of the FBI. O'Neill's critics contend that his personal failings proved fatal to his FBI career. His supporters, however, believe his main failing was refusing to conform to the standard-issue FBI mold.

We’ll be in NYC, just down the street from the WTC, on 9/11. I will be saying a prayer.

The 20th anniversary of the September 11 attacks is understandably a time of deep sadness as the world remembers an act of evil that’s still hard to believe. But for some it’s also a chance to celebrate the opposite: kindness, compassion and the very best of humanity. In the mayhem of the day that saw terror raining from the skies, American airspace was shut down, and a tiny town in a remote part of north eastern Canada suddenly found itself the destination for commercial passenger aircraft ordered to land immediately. Seven thousand plane people with nowhere else to go were about to discover the delights of the wonderful community of Gander.

Even after 25 years I still can't watch any memorial or show regarding 9/11. I am truly emotionally scared. The worst is hearing the names of people I knew.

I pray for the people lost, their families and the survivors. There are no words to express the profound feeling of loss.

I was at work when the planes hit. Back then our office did not have a TV and the internet was swamped. A colleague had a radio in her office for updates. I called home and told my wife to pull cash from ATM and fill our cars with gas as some reports were saying many planes not accounted for some heading for CA. Everyone left the office and I spent the day at home with family watching the news. It was a very emotional day. Prayers to those lost and their families.
