Philippe has plenty of free parking, with a small lot behind the restaurant and a large lot across the street.

I've had breakfast there. Its no lamb dip sandwich (eggs is eggs), but not bad. The corn beef hash was good.

Philippe's has a free parking lot. Or at least if did the last time I went there many, many years ago. French dip for breakfast?
Phillipe's has a full breakfast menu and still has free parking. Two big lots, one in back and one across the street. I go there all the time and parking is not an issue, unless it's 1 hour before a Dodgers home game.

Check the race route online before driving up. As long as you stay clear of the actual route, (a couple blocks away is usually ok), should be fine. The problems occur when you are on one side of it and need to get to the other. Only freeways cross a marathon route.

Trying to clear my schedule to make the drive down.

If there is no surf and I can get some things cleared at work tomorrow it would be worth the road trip down. My son loves Philippe's.

That's always one of my considerations before committing to anything else.

If it's flat and you end up going, will you be driving the 911? We could meet up at the Starbucks at Rancho Rd and Thousand Oaks Blvd off the 101 and caravan into Philippe. I found some race gas and will be firing up my hot rod. I just need to put a muffler on her.

Craig if I go we will take the 911 and let my son drive down. He needs some more experience in heavy traffic then SB can give him.

I'm probably about a 20% of making the trip down as the forecast on 17' is looking very promising for a run to jalama. If I go I can text you saturday am. just send me a txt with your info my cell is 805- four five two - 7 five 0 zero

Spent my lunch today in the water. Work just had to wait but now I'm about 2 weeks behind

Just an FYI, Phillipe's is a short walk from Union Station in case anyone wants to take the Metrolink. Wait a minute, what the Hell am I saying, this is a car BBS. Never mind.

That's great advice for anyone coming from far away. It's fun to take the train along the coast and probably more of a fun thing to do with your kids than a drive, which is all we/they ever do in SoCal.

Actually another approach, coming from the valley would be by the red line subway to Union Station! Could be useful with anticipated marathon traffic around downtown. Yes, Los Angeles has a fast and efficient subway! And there is parking at the North Hollywood station.

I looked it up and I can catch a train at 7:30 and be at Union Station at 8:25. Train back leaves at 11:30. I would do that, but I wanted to hit up the LA Fish Market first since they close at 9:30 AM to make some Bouillabaisse. In that case I would have to drive.
