That is an amazing ownership history. Lots of great 356 miles over the last 41 years I assume.
Congratulations for having the commitment to stay with these two amazing Porsches for all this time.

It hasn't always been easy. My ex-wife used to say, "You don't buy cars, you marry them."

I've had the coupe on two laps of the lower 48 states, a trip to the northern part of the Canadian Rockies (we got several miles beyond the last paved road before we turned back), driven to Registry Holidays in Oregon, Colorado, Mass, Connecticut, and a bunch of more local ones. The Speedster did a few SCCA regionals and a lot of autocrosses. I threw out a box of trophies a couple of years ago. I've had my hands on every nut and bolt in both of them, rebuilt the mechanicals (engine, trans, suspension) on them both - I've done the coupe engine twice.

Almost 10 years. Time has flown by but I have learnt from many of this site (thank-you all) and feel fortunate to be in a position to own this car, ownership has been great and I look forward to the next 10.

Kudos to the long time owners on this thread..amazing and I salute you.

Just over 3 months. I bought it 15 years after I purchased the 1st one which I only owned for about 5 years.

With the optional hard top in place.

I don't ever call it by a name, but I did name it Charlotte since it's a 2008 Boxster RS60 Spyder.

It's nice to see some long term ownerships going on around here.

I had a particular motorbike I always regretted selling back in the 1970's. So I'm not letting my much loved SC slip away.

What's that saying about buying something expensive of quality that you really want "Buy once, cry once..."

7 years. No itch.
Car is still better than I am for lack of seat time.
Bought it before my son was born as I knew that if I didn't buy it then, I never would.

10 years. And I am ashamed to say that I have only averaged 1500 miles per year. Not enough . . .

I'm on my 19th Porsche 47 years later.

I had my 70 911S Targa ( 9110310111 ) for 15 years. I sold her about 4 years ago. I miss it every day I swear. I've had many 914's and a 924 . The 911 was the only one that would make my heart beat rise just driving it.

I have owned my 1978 911sc Targa ROW for the past 20 years. I am the third owner. A local college professor used it as a pussy magnet for 18 months before me (he needed the help) - the original owner brought it over from Germany as a new car.

Between 2003 and 2010, my car averaged ZERO miles per year...as I waited to strike for the engine I always wanted.

I know the newer cars are much better cars, but in comparison, your SC looks like it has aged better than I predict the C4S will in 30 years. Just my opinion

Hmmm...I'm yet convinced that the new cars are "better" although they are a thrill to drive, rock-solid (knock wood) and it does not matter to me which one will age better because I am alive today and (for me) the C4S is a more complete tool and one that I am enjoying in many more manners than the SC.

I started with an 1982 SC about 10 years ago. Moved on to a Boxster, and now a 997S. I go through cars/bikes pretty quick, but I think the 997 is a keeper. I simply can't find another car that does everything as well at the same price point.

My first:
