Rangers 3 - Caps 1, with an empty net goal with 20.7 seconds remaining.

Maybe so.

I figure it will be a one goal game in OT. Maybe Rangers 2-1 but it could be one of those wild 4-3 games of the century. I can pretty much guarantee that if Ovi goes blank the Tex's cowboys have it.

Anyone else want to make a prediction? While we're at it, how about how many fights or any game misconducts? I hope the refs call loose game and let the boys play.

1990C4S 05-13-2015 10:15 AM

Has there been a playoff fight yet? I don't think so. There were only seven last year.

And I think only PK has a game misconduct.

There won't be either tonight.

Here's hoping for a good game NOT decided by a blown call or a $chitt-can goal.

Cheers

I predict Rangers 3-2 in first OT.

What the hell is happening? Almost eerie but I'm finding the NHL becoming the most clean among any other 'pro' level sport. LOL

These guys even have a classy dress code coming and going vs. the others.

The players' dress code is written into the current collective bargaining agreement.

Exhibit 14, Paragraph 5 reads: "Players are required to wear jackets, ties and dress pants to all Club games and while traveling to and from such games unless otherwise specified by the Head Coach or General Manager."

I hope the Rangers can pull it off tonight. And how about Tampa they are playing well.

Por_sha911 05-13-2015 04:11 PM

Stamkos finally woke up. Bishop has been playing the best hockey of his career and the Habs ran out of gas mentally. Result: Tampa moves up.

I got the 2-1 in OT right. Let's see if the Rangers take it.

You gotta feel bad for the guy but this might be as close as he gets to the cup.

1990C4S 05-14-2015 05:05 AM

Feel bad for OV? All talk, never delivers when it matters. Repeat annually.

I will say this: he did appear to be trying this year. But the playoffs are not the regular season, and he can't make the next step.

flatbutt 05-14-2015 06:28 AM

I did feel for the guy when all of the reporters were in his face after the game. But he did make the brag and couldn't deliver... no one can on their own in hockey, he should know better.

There sure were some big hits last night too. Watching Boyle try to get to his feet was distressing.

nostatic 05-14-2015 07:38 AM

Felt a little bad for Ov but not much. You live by the press, you die by the press.

Lundqvist was ridiculous during the first minutes of OT. Can't believe the Caps didn't score on some of those chances.

Tampa Bay is fast. Really fast. Should be an interesting series.

Hawkeye's-911T 05-14-2015 09:51 AM

The Hawks/ducks series should be quite interesting although I think one may see more of a speed game in the Rangers/Lighting round. The weather is almost getting too good to be watching a supposedly 'winter sport'. Ove gave it good shot but.......

Cheers
JB

Hey Flat

What did you think of Orpik's hit on Boyle? It was kinda hard (for me at least) not to think he had his 'bow up just a tich. Maybe Boyle (inadvertently) made himself vulnerable. At the end of the day, you're right, it was scary.

Cheers

I thought it was a clean hit. Boyle was low, Orpik was upright. No elbow, and he never left his feet. Just a hard hit.

At first I thought Orpik jumped into it but changed my mind after seeing the replay. I too think he brought his elbow up juuuuust a bit but he didn't follow through with the lift. However...Boyles head was the prime point of contact. The question is did Boyle endanger himself? I don't think he did but by the same token I don't think it can be shown to be an intentional hit to the head. It's a tough sport played by rough men.

Wow. 8 years, 50 million dollars. FOR A COACH.

Meh. He was no Scotty Bowman.
I may be missing something here but what does that have to do with 2nd round playoffs?

Back to the topic at hand: last night was intense. The deeper OT goes, the more emotion and heartbreak for the loser. They played almost two full games last night.

Tonight should be interesting in Tampa. The Rangers will be motivated to make up for the embarrassment they called hockey in game 2.
