Chevy car parts help!
OK folks, I need help from the brain trust. My 1986 El Camino has problems with the wipers. I have tracked the problem to the cover with the pulse control.
It is an AC Delco Part number 22039684 Simple right. Now PLEASE try to find one for sale from a trusted source. The only place I found that said they had them just seemed like a shady site. I am hoping one of the professionals on the board have a parts source that is for the industry and not just selling to us mere mortals. I feel sure that the part is going to cost over $75 and I may well start calling junk yards tomorrow. The part was used on tons of cars and it just amazes me that is id just not available.

Glen--can you post a pic of the part?
My FIL bought a junker Caprice a few weeks ago. Even though it's not on your list I will check it out for you. He has the cobble job 84 Camaro which is on the list so I will check that out as well. Being in Flint might get a result as a lot of those parts were made here at the AC plant.

I'd be suprised if I could not get you a complete motor with the cover locally, I will see what I can dig up for you tomorrow. I swear that I just replaced one in the last year or so.
Have you looked into having yours fixed? If there is indeed, nothing available , you could send it to BBA remanufacturing , they usually get stuff back to me in 2-3 days. How often does in rain in Oklahoma ?? maybe you can slide for a few days..

We are forecast to have a lot of rain next week. I really don't want to drive the 911 just to go to work with wipers.
ACDelco 22039684 Windshield Wiper Motor There is a photo at the top of this web site. The wiper motor is available but without the cover. It is just the cover that is made of unobtanium.

I think there are a few listed on Flea bay, otherwise, should not be that hard to find one at the wreckers .

I'd offer you the one off my old Delta 88 but it looks like a different design.
I bet you could find one at a boneyard though.

Yea, it is looking like the bone-yards are the only choice.
That just amazes me. How many millions of cars were produced that used that part. I understand it is 30 years ago but so is the rest of the car. I can find tons of obscure parts for it but not that one important part.

Glen, I am going to head over to my FILs this morning to check the Caprice.
Do you want to get the part locally to you or could you wait for me to ship it if it's the right one? I'm not sure I will be able to verify the operation of the wipers. I'd hate to send you a defective part.

You can actually find some GM - AC/Delco NOS parts. Be sure to look for "professional" quality notation - this is my source for OEM domestic parts.

Sorry Glen, the part on the Caprice isn't correct. I know it's not on the list but was worth a shot especially since it would be free.
The cobbled 84 Camaro the FIL has is not correct, either. Not sure why as that IS on the list. I hope you can find it locally.

Glen, use Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market to search the salvage yards. Also, check eBay if you haven't. Lots of salvaged post inventory there.
