As you are the arbitrator of all that is red blooded American? Give me a break you sound like a guy that leans out your window yelling at kids to get off your lawn.

Free expression the way people want to behave, in a cooperative environment where all are there for fun, doesn't exactly sound anti-American.

I am not upset.... I just think they are a bunch of weird hippies. To me it is just waste of time and money.... essentially doing a bunch of illegal drugs, dressing like a freak and spending a bunch of time building stuff with no real useful purpose (and then burning it). Opinions are like azzholes... we all have them and this is mine.

Just created a profile, thanks for that Don. Probably will look into some volunteering.

My life philosophy for the last 20 or so years has been to actively make the lives of people around me better, friends, family and strangers alike, and mostly in tiny ways (Tim has firsthand experience of this) that just create a smile and a thanks, the key being to always be on the lookout for opportunities to act, especially since small things can blossom into bigger ones. It's a gratifying way to go through life and is a little contagious.

I'm not immune to judging nor being so, but to judge the free expression of many of Man's best qualities seems really quite odd to me. I don't get it.

Hopefully that will get you a ticket. Years ago I wanted to do an ultramarathon bike ride that was near impossible to get a slot for but by volunteering the year prior, I ended up being guaranteed a spot

Sounds like an excellent way to live. I don't get the hate either. Especially for something that people have no personal experience with and only make assumptions about. I dated an artist for a few years. Her studio was in an "artists collective" in Seattle and several were early Burners. Incredibly creative people. I met some very cool folks during those years and it only added to my appreciation of our differences.
