I have a pair of Ohm Walsh 2's that I bought used 30 years ago. Still sound amazing. Have had several come and go over the years but the Ohms remain. Keep an eye out Sean. You won't be disappointed.

Giant Ohm Walsh fanboy here too. Have both 2's and 4's. Soundstage is amazing, even off axis.
Keep your eye out for Mission monitors as well

spica-tc50s were an extremely popular audiophile choice in the 80s, might be able to find a pair cheap on cl

I love KG4s, but my favorite vintage speaker is JBL 4311. I picked up a pair for $50 from a garage sale and kept them for years. Unfortunately I just didn't have a good space in my house for them. After shuffling them around a few times I sold them for $500.

Ohm ran a bell... looked them up... never owned a pair but yeah, remember them fondly.

I scored some SAE Mark VII's from a customer who was moving back in the 90's. Speakers sound great out in the shop!
Was also recently given a 90's era set of Klipsch KG 2.2 bookshelf speakers and the amp/sub crossover. Nice for surround sound. C |

Still have a pair of JBL 4311s. They need new crossovers but sound great other than that.

I have a pair of Tannoy 15" Monitor Gold speakers in custom cabinets I had made in Singapore in 1970. I have owned a few other speakers since that time, but the Tannoys are still my main sound source.
I think they are pretty rare these days in the USA, anyway. Quite well known in the UK.

Shaun,
Anything made by A/D/S back in the day would be considered top of the line stuff. Definitely Audiophile. I'm trying to buy QSC speakers new right now, for a business that I'm building. Finding it next to impossible. Finally got the manufacturer's rep on the line and I explained that I'm going to sell more of his product than virtually any other way, because we are a high profile location. I'm hoping that the demo goes well. They're sending a guy in a car with samples. I'm trying to buy perhaps a dozen speakers, an amp, control board/ mixer, the whole ball of wax from QSC and they're acting like they want to keep their product more than I want to buy. |

True Vintage Audiophile Speakers?
What vintage? 60s – 70s with wooly bass, crunched midrange & shrill but rolled off high frequencies? Exceptions: Quad ESL, Harbeth HL2, Rogers LS3-5A (absolutely no bass though), KEF 104AB, Dalquist DQ10, EPI 100s (although the HF rolled at 14K but they weren’t alone in that) 80s – The true audiophile decade. A lot of great designs – especially the electrostats. Buy Englsih boxes for midrange & nice warm bass & buy American for boom & tiz rock n roll style. For me, the QUAD ESL-63 won the decade. But they will die so used is not a good thing . . . but there is a guy in VA that can rebuild them. 90s + - The digital age changed loudspeaker design. All of a sudden speakers became dynamic. Real slap you in the face stuff. All of the Brit companies stumbled in the late 80s & others filled the gap. Wilson for sheer dynamics & smack you in the chest bass but they also sear your ears somewhat. JMlab for the best midrange in a box. Martin-Logan or Magneplanar for the size. And on & on. Of course, many of the above will still command big $s. But then, I am biased. Rusnak QSC – like everybody else in the consumer & Pro industry, sells to audio businesses that retail their whole product line in a traditional fashion or online. Maybe your business model doesn’t fit into this slot so they are leery. I have personally heard a lot of strange marketing ideas in my day. And when it comes to volume, I can pretty much guarantee that what they ship Sweetwater, Sam Ash & Guitar Center dwarfs all of their independent dealers in the US combined. A good product btw. Ian

Ian, in N. Calif the rep is "The Farm" and in the south, it's "Audio Geer".
Neither of them may sell to me, so I have to find some local guy with a pickup and tools to purchase them from The Farm, then I buy them from the dude with a truck. It's very very odd. When you call QSC, they are totally indifferent to whether they sell anything or not. I originally bought the QSC K-8s from Guitar Center. Fantastic sound, which is at this point the only reason I'm sticking with my plan. |

![]() The Spicas were the speakers on the house stereo for years but then I moved and wanted a bigger speaker for a bigger room. ![]() I picked up a pair of German made ‘80s era Canton CT-2000s from Craigslist. Wonderful sound, beautiful cabinetry and built like a Panzer Tank. The workshop has a pair of Craigslist Klipsch 1.5 bookshelfs. ![]() The patio has a pair of Klipsch 3.2 speakers. The cabinets need some love but they still sound good. |

That is a rep firm. I don't know them but I will ask. It looks like QSC do have a CA distributor: Empire Pro. Empire Pro - Homepage That is where you will probably find the best price for small quantity buying.

This inspired a little local search. Right now in Seattle you can just about any of the klipsch models listed in this thread. There was a Seth kg4s for $150, some lascalas for $1000 and even some cornwalls.
seattle for sale "klipsch" - craigslist Nice to see such a selection locally. Wish I was in the market.
