The tree was full of huge yellow fruit, so I snagged one and brought it home.

I peeled it and got down to the fruit. The skin on the sections is pretty tough, so I peel the sections and eat the meat. It's not that hard to peel the sections, but it is a little time consuming. You could probably cut it in half and eat it like a grapefruit with a spoon if you want, but I like the peel method better. They taste a lot like a grapefruit, but are more mild in flavor and not sour and not super sweet either. I've swiped 3 now while walking the dogs.
Woah, woah, woah, now.

Shouldn’t this be moved into the azzhold neighbor thread? I mean, you know, as sort of an opposing viewpoint?

J/K. I don’t know what in the He77 it is.
Yep

"Pomelo – Pummelo - also called Chinese grapefruit, shaddock, pumelo, pommelo, and pompelmous."

Pomelo/jabong taste great when ripe. However, like grapefruit, don't eat too much if you are on cholesterol meds. It counteracts the meds.

My doctor doesn't seem to think that's true, a wives tale. In fact I ate a grapefruit almost every morning for years and we talked about it, I stopped for six months and no difference in my blood tests.

I love eating pomelo, but the downside is pomelo farts.

Weird, I don't have that particular problem.

I did peel mine down like this, which takes a bit, but is worth it. (not my pic, my pomelo was more pink)

It's amazing at how much meat is in these things.

This is a full sized dinner plate.
