Now this is a Man-Cave

If you are in the Houston area and get a chance to tour this place, it is kind of mind- boggling. Apparently money was no object and he is a super nice guy to boot...

look up the address on google earth to view the grounds the building sits on.... and the structure of the building itself is amazing.

Very nice. BUT WAY TOO MUCH for me. I like things simple.

To me overdone if it was private, but I see it's a convention/event/meeting center so I'd say it's cool.

The thing that really interested me is the pond, we are looking at doing this in our backyard.

Not putting miles on your car is like not having sex with your girlfriend, so she'll be more desirable to her next boyfriend.

I would have guessed Texas, if it wasn't in the headline ... horrible.

The cars are lost in all the neon, marble etc.

If this was a cowboy nightclub or strip mall restaurant without cars in it, everyone here would say that was the most garish tackiest pile of terrible they'd ever seen. Pelicans are a very polite bunch
Without the neon, it would actually look tasteful with those vaulted wooden beam ceilings. But, this is more proof that money can never buy taste.

The place actually looks pretty interesting. I think the images look a bit garish due to the HDR filters applied to each image.

It's not the Henry Ford (former car factory), I'll say that much.

This.... It is not anywhere near as garish as the pictures. Don't know why these chose to use that style ??

The owner doesn't buy the MoPars and have them restored, he just buys first class restorations already done as it is much less expensive. He travels all over the country buying cars, tractors, gas pumps, neon and enamel signs, etc. . Said he was leaving next spring for Prince Edward Island where there is a large collection of collectables for sale. Once word got out he was buying, people call him from all over the country. Really an interesting guy to talk to.

As we walk into a converted warehouse near downtown, with its polished concrete floor and ultra clean lines, builder Chris Fry says, "Welcome to the ultimate man cave - a big boys playhouse."

This museum garage houses nine collector cars; mostly vintage, mostly Porsches and each worth at least six figures.

Fry points to a 1967 Fastback Mustang, prized because everything from the paint to the interior is in original mint condition.

His company, Dovetail Builders designed and created this space in about 6 months. Fry says, "Car guys come in, polish the cars, talk about the cars & look at buying new cars."

Among all these, the showcase car is Hybrid Porsche 918 Spyder.

The price tag is more than a million dollars. The "liquid silver" paint color alone is a $64,000 option. The car goes from 0 - 60 miles an hour, in two point five seconds.

Its showcase glass doors mimic a Matchbox toy box cellophane window.

Pointing to the super luxury super high performance car, Fry jokes, "If you were a giant, this would be your little matchbox car."

The owner can also rock out to a Macintosh sound system but there are no captain's chairs here. Instead Fry points to chairs which are in fact car seats from vintage Porsches with the correct vintage upholstery.

The attention to detail is everywhere, including the paint colors, which are Porsche paint colors. Symmetry is key from the lighting to the carefully spaced nails on the stair case.

In the corner is a vintage Coke machine that dispenses bottled beer instead of bottled sodas.

There is also a toy race track, a pint sized copy of California's famed Laguna Seca race course.

It's all a play land for owner. Fry says, "His motto is work hard and play harder."
