I was thinking the same thing! I'm reading through all these posts about moving and too much stuff, and all I keep going back to is "Man, I could really use a good plumb bob". Save one for me Cliff!

We were doing some unpacking today. We'll finish that up sometime soon after we complete our move (Spring?).

Now in 993 land ...

Are you moving yourself? I have moved a lot. With company movers. Then it is easy. They pack all your crap and unload it at the new place. You never clean up ahead of time and it is paid for. Down side is that you keep all the garbage you don't need. My last move was self and I had several MONTHS time to vacate and move into the new place. We cleaned up everything. It has been great. I threw out a lot of hardware, bolts, screws, spare parts tools etc. that I may never need. It has been 9 months before I needed the first tool - a miter saw. It cost $14.99 and was much better than my old one. Bolts and hardware? Go to the store and buy new, exactly what I need. No sifting through 18 pounds of random crap every time ...

we just moved after 21 years in the same house. Did a lot of trips to the local Goodwill drop off.
Glad the move is over, was a *****. 1973 911T MFI Coupe, Aubergine Steve |

Wife is wanting to move but I dont think I can afford to replace what we currently have house wise. I would like to act like Im moving and do a junk purge but Im storing 3 other peoples stuff in my garage at the moment so I dont have a place to purge to. Ugh.

Time to tell the Store-ers to purge the storage from your garage. This seems to be a problem in America, that people forget what they have when they aren't tripping over it themselves.

No kidding. My dad was willing to buy the detached shop building at my grandmas place for his business and to free up some money for grandma. My aunt threw a wrench in the deal because she would have to get her stuff out of there. Stuff she hasn't touched since she moved... In 2001! And this isn't a nice clean shop either. Everything in there is covered in thick dust and cobwebs. She is saving a VHS player that the roof leaked on!?

One other store-ee has gotten everything but a nice big iMac and a couple of boxes. No big deal. The third one though.... has promised to have it all out by my next vacation. Actually, all 3 have promised that. Which means at the end of Spring Break I'll either have my garage back, or have a BIG garage sale *and* my garage back... |

We've moved both of our mothers in the last 5 years..... we're probably 10 years out on our downsize, but already culling the herd...
PS don't need a bob - already have a couple of them... but not as nice as yours...
