It is expensive. When Banana Republic started convincing people to wear simple cotton t-shirts as actual clothing, and then started charging $25 for them, that was EXPENSIVE (and then fleecing the world). Then, they convince people to wear TWO t-shirts, different colors at ONCE, for $25 each! Stupid expensive!
$90 hoodie? Expensive. Some company fleecing you with fleece. Hoodies are and were by design $12 items at Kmart to be worn when you are (a) cold and (b) doing things that might make you dirty, like playing football at the local park in the winter.

Just let me say I have nice cloths, watches, shoes, glasses... I just don't see sweats (which is how I would classify a hoodie) as fashion wear.
Let me also say I live in Los Angeles and see everything from cooperate VP's in $10K suits to gangsters with $500 tennis shoes but I have never seen anyone wear a hoodie with a suit as pictured above. But whatever floats you boat.

I'll admit that I've spent a bit north of $89 on sweatshirts and sweaters. This one seems unrealistically expensive for what is the skinny jeans urban hipster version of the Carhart sweatshirt.

I have a few from Flint & Tinder and one from American Giant. No, I didn't pay full price, but still more expensive than the usual suspects. They are claimed to be Made in USA.
Other than that good feeling that you are wearing something made here, I don't see or feel any difference. They may be a bit heavier, but I'm sure you could find one as heavy, but made in China or some other country, and cheaper. They are no longer out of stock. That was a supply problem before. |

Wow what a bunch of working class hero's we have here...
If I were shoveling pig shyte I wouldn't be wearing Gucci loafers either....maybe Armani...but cruising through the Glitter Gulch jungle Gucci says something... It is how you put together what you are wearing that counts as style and not the expense or trendiness of the garment. It is called being impeccable.. Now I will say a Broini or Zegna clothing is about as good as it gets (Saville Row In London probably exceeds them, but that is a whole different stylistic mind set). It is the fine cloth the finish..and fit that you are paying for...and the reputation that the name engenders. But make no mistake they do make nice fitting cloths that are impeccable. Impeccable means looking like a Cary Grant or being a rag muffin Sylvester Stallone. Do you want to know who notices...women. Brioni, Brioni Clothing & Brioni Menswear | Neiman Marcus So beotching about an $89 Hoodie is soooo low rent..Trailer Trash speak. BTW Do you wana know who wears Brioni today? In the past John Wayne used to have his suits bespoke by them. http://www.barrons.com/articles/brioni-are-the-suits-worth-it-1411688973

^ No. There are a lot of things that are low rent, which I won't go into.
Complaining about $89 for a Brooks Brothers cashmere would be showing ignorance. But this sweatshirt is not exactly considered a designer item, nor even a boutique item such as Porsche Design. It is not something that would engender a lecture about "style" either. It's a sweatshirt that is designed for people who want to project an active image and a small measure of prestige. It's the Yeti of the sweatshirt world. |

There are the movers and shakers and then everybody else. So when I search a faceless crowd. A swirling mass of gray and Black and white, They don't look real to me, In fact, they look so strange....
I wouldn't buy that crappy $89 Hoodie either but it isn't because it is so expensive... It is because it is crap. I am not cheap you understand but I am a cut price person in a low budget land. Quality takes time and time takes money. But I found a way to buy quality at a low budget price...

Not a hoody guy, but if I was, I wouldn't blink paying $89 for a quality AMERICAN made piece of clothing.
I try my best to support American companies and clothes are one of the hardest things to find. Much respect to them for making jobs here in the US.

$89 is not a lot for a hoody. Look at what they are getting for a NHL sweater? $300-$400
