The women's restroom is almost always the worst. I have clean up my share of public restroom crap blowouts.

Just this Sunday I cleaned **** up in the ladies room twice in 2 hours. Somehow they had managed to smear it on the front of the bowl, the rim, in the trash can, and on the outside of the door.
I was complaining to my wife, and she said if its not on the floor with change stuck in it to shut up.

My first job out of college was as a slave for an old school CPA firm. I started dating another staffer there after about a year of working out of the firm's similarly old school low-rise office building.

We met up there late one Friday, and seeing as how the building was empty and she had to go, she asked that I come into the ladies room with her. As was said her earlier, this had always been verboten so I'd never been inside before. CONTRARY to what's been said here, I found out that night that although it looked the same as the men's from out in the hallway, the ladies had a full on lounge ante-chamber, complete with an upholstered chair and sofa. While it really didn't bother me, I couldn't believe it.

Not complaining tho, if memory serves we once made use of that sofa...

Up until a couple weeks ago, my father at age 96 still went down to his office 3 days a week. It's in a 5 story building with long halls and a mens room and ladies room near the elevator on each floor. His office is all the way at the other end of the floor.

So about a month ago I went down to the office with him and he stops by the mens room and tells me to try and open the door. It's a big heavy wooden door with the hydraulic arm at the top. And it is hell to push open for a 96 year old fellow with bad shoulders. He says he left management a note on the door to adjust/loosen the mechanism. Tells me to give it a try. Nope, no adjustments made. Still hell to open.

So I tell him to try the door on the ladies room and see if it is any easier to open.
He says "HELL! That's the ladies room!"
I told him "Well what the hell does it matter if you really gotta go and the door is easier to open? If anybody asks you, tell them you identify with a young lady trapped in the body of an old man!"

He chuckled.

I'm coming to the US for 2 weeks next week. From what I've read here, I think I will go to the toilet before leaving home and just hold on until I get back.(actually UK public toilets are generally worse than the ones I've encountered before in the US).

On our recent 5,500 mile road trip I always let my wife pick the "rest" stops on the journey. She pointed out one truck stop that had a Subway sandwich shop so we could grab a quick meal as well. The men's room had two urinals with plastic bags over them and out of order signs on them, so there was a slow line to use the reaming spots.

As we were waiting in line to order my wife said she had never before been to a ladies room bathroom that had Go-Jo with grit as the hand hand soap.

It was the same in the men's room but I have seen that a few times. Let's just say it was not a upscale stop. It was busy for sure.

thank goodness all the guys here are respectful.
no floaties left behind, no piss on the seat.
we had a new guy come in and I actually caught him pissing on the seat. (he left the door open and I walked in).
had to be in his 50's and pissing on the seat.

here is a good one.
had a guy from DC (govt) come down. we are in a meeting. 11am sharp he puts his brief case on the table and pulls out his lunch and starts eating.
this is for the OP:
the mens bathroom was full. I see him come out and not even thinking twice goes into the womans restroom. AND I AM STANDING THERE WATCHING!!
I should have called the secretary and had her go in there.

Having spent a considerable time behind a windshield, I do not use gas station restrooms for the big business. Best to use a hotel lobby rest room. Always can find one off an interstate and no one uses the lobby rest rooms. Always immaculate.

I don't know how it is in the rest of the states just about every supermarket around here has bathrooms, as does every hospital.

I'm guilty of using the ladies room in an emergency (men's room out of order and waited too long to vent)... not sure why all the fuss... it is just a little room with a toilet and a sink, the only thing that makes it special is the sign on the door. Even my wife will tell me to use the ladies room if some shy guy is camping out in the men's.

RE: Urinals, I worked as a A/V tech for a prom, went to use the bathroom and there was pee all over the floor in front of the urinals... I expect that in a beer bar were a gentlemen aim may be compromised... but a bunch of high school boys?

Eww gross moment today. At the office today my assistant says that we have to delay the schedule as she has a clean up in the restroom to do. I make a screwed up face and tell her that shouldn't be her job but she says the maintenance people won't come till nearly noon. Evidently a woman bled out profusely in the restroom leaving an ungodly mess and that thankfully aint my job to fix.

Hygiene products are like the American Express ladies, don't leave home without it.

To be fair, this whole 'Indoor Flushing Toilet' thing is pretty new there.

Sheetz has spiffy bathrooms. Corian wash bowls and toilet paper holders that a skinny non-acrobat can use without lacerating his knees.

I have seen a few scary things there but the cleaning rotation is quick. Mostly guys choosing to miss the urinal.

Regarding urinals, the full length ones allow for a bit of slop and usually have the big pink mints at which to aim. Probably four times the price of the hang on the wall units with installation.

They've been my goto place for gas since they appeared on the scene here several years ago. I remember starting a thread saying that there was no way in hell I was gonna go inside a gas station named SHEETZ for food . I was wrong....dammit, that's twice today .

Food is pretty good too...
