CSI Vegas did a episode on furies back in 2003 or 2004. Some guy wearing a Rocky Raccoon costume was shot by a farmer who mistook him for a real racoon and then he was hit by a truck who while trying to avoid hitting him hit the car that Rocky's Gf was driving. Great episode, funny as hell.

Had friends in SCA back in the 70s/80s. Rutan leaves big bruises. Rennfaires, for decades, historical reenactments, the serious dudes in character for weeks at a time.

These are all forms of fantasy/escapism. Tragic story that I read today as well but, I used to dress as a half eleven ranger way back. The all to familiar story made the National Theater because of a sidebar that the current Oldtimers can't relate to. Now
If they'd been playing WWII,,,,,?

Got a niece who's hubby is into WWII reenactments. Couldn't imagine that would be thing. What, go to Japantown in the City looking for extras?

Almost, except it was Turtle who wouldn't go through with it, so Drama stepped in and put on the suit. If he was going to lose 5 grand, he was at least getting some *******.

Well I got the players right....

AFAIK, Furries are usually straight, they just like costumes...of course no accounting for Fuglee as seen by Ms Overbite.

Said an old disengaged codger always.

No more homosexual than the average straight couple
Engaging in the everyday Doctor/Nurse role playing.

You ever role play with your SO? Leather, handcuffs, feathers?

Most people have their freak on from time to time. There are those that are honest about it and upfront and those,,,,

That lie about it.

About a hundred years ago I bought a box of star trek books at a garage sale for a couple bux.

There was a star trek convention locally, so I figured I take the books down there and see what they were worth and maybe unload them. Note this was before e-bay.

I walked into the place and saw all those special people walking around in fantasyland and I said to myself, self? Time to go.
I believe i still have those books stored somewhere.

I really hope you check out what they are worth before tossing them in the dumpster...

I mean, I will take them off your hands for $5, I can drop by tonight to pick them up.

Lemme make sure the wife didn't toss them.
I remember these books for sure:

The one on the left below was from the 70's, hardback, maybe first edition. The one on the right was paperback dime a dozen.

I'm no expert but... most of the pictures I see of furries seem to be guy/gal couples...

Not that anyone here would wear a silly costume just to get laid...

Like, ya know.. a three piece polyester suit to go disco dancing?

I honestly didn't notice... just did as quick google image search for Comic con and slapped a few images on here. Didn't have or take time to examine to images.
