Dave, trying to get info on how Sea Pines fared. Have several neighbors who stayed despite my wife encouraging them to come to Charlotte. Pm if you prefer.

Getting hammered in Raleigh now. Power went out at 11. Lots of trees down and major flooding all over the state.

6 to 8 inches of rain is expected by the end of the day

Hopefully the power will ne back on in a few days.

Ironically, I went to Agri Supply around 11:00 this morning for pipe, and fittings to fix a broken water line from my well, to the house, and had planned to stop by Cycle Gear for a spark plug. ASC was open, but seemed that all the power was out west of 401 south, so Cycle Gear was closed. No signal lights at Tryon and S.Saunders was no fun, and there was lots of areas of standing water on Tryon rd.

The power at the house has been out since 2:00 pm yesterday. This was in my yard this morning. About 10' from going thru the bedroom roof. The ground is just saturated. We've had 15" of rain over the last 4 days at my house.

My power went out about midnight on friday, was back for a few hours on sat then went back out and is still out
Got some major limbs down in the yard.
Spent the day cleaning them up. Only got the limbs cleaned up.
all the small debris is still in the yard. I am exhausted.
Beautiful day. Nice and cool and sunny.

I lost power for about 16 hours. I was amazed at what my little generator could run. Full size fridge/freezer, fans, two table lamps and two tvs, cable boxes and router....it barely broke a sweat or used very much fuel.

Also in Raleigh and we were pretty lucky. Power stayed on and only annoying yard debris.

So glad to hear that all Pelicans in the S E have come thru ok.
Anyone heard from our friend Baz, may still not have power on yet?

My ohana in the Melbourne area are fine. Just one more friend to hear from.
His Boat is on the hard in Jax. He is with family in Malaisia. Still waiting to hear that his boat/ home is ok.

Nice the storm stayed just offshore while really intense, quite a break.

Cheers Richard

I just had a few large trees down on one property as I watched it rain during the game yesterday...but I've experienced flooding down east before

Hi Rich - thanks for the concern. All well here. Just got Internet back but still on my generator for power. Hopefully power will be restored in my section tomorrow.

Will share pics later....

The island as whole is a friggin wreck. Beaufort county just opened the borders today for people to return home, as long as their home is in an area verified to have water and power. That said, Hilton Head and other islands in the county are still closed entirely and likely will remain that way for a few more days. Haven't heard of any serious injuries, but an incredible amount of property damage.
