yes a pond so I'll look but they have many, many trees closer to the north stream to choose from. Why mine is a bit of a question.

Beavers do essentially good things.
Same as man for its own benefit.

They block a water channel runoff uphill to slow it down.
Water and nutrients are now trapped and spread out locally creating new plant growth.
What would have been a bare rocky mountain stream turns into an ecosystem at higher altitudes, and attracts new animals.

Love that beaver.

They also munch on the trees in the area flooded by the newly trapped water.

Your trees are close to the water's edge and would be falled into the water. Then they can munch on them all winter.
