My dream bike is a K1300R, but there are about five of them in the US and they're prohibitively expensive to federalize. They grow on trees in Germany. My K1200R is very comfy for the 5-6 hrs. it takes to get to LA or SD from Phoenix. My GS was too. But after the speed of a K-bike, I can't go back to a GS unless it's a second bike.

Getting back to Choc's plaint; boxers are an acquired taste. RT's, since the '70's, have always looked staid, but they're plenty quick. I remember David Swider, former president of MOA, writing that on his RT he could easily run with guys on sportbikes - 2 up. For many years, I've wished that Motor Rad would contract the RT's styling out to one of the Italian design houses. But the newer ones don't look bad. Last edited by Rinty; 10-29-2016 at 11:16 AM.. |
