So young!

He loved showing off his wife and his cars and pushed a few buttons here and there, and some forum members pushed back, I was was always impressed with his amazing car collection and his feature on Petrolicious.

Rest in peace...so very sad!

Edit: Thanks for letting us know Motion.

I had noticed he had not posted in a while but figured someone had posted something offending on his recent threads so he just went away. Never figured he had passed...

There were a few that were green with envy and went on the offensive when Mark shared his enjoyment with his stuff.

His posts were way over the top sometimes but I never saw it as bragging or rubbing anyone's nose in it, just awkward sharing of his good fortune and fun and achievements.

Like the way he got attacked in his posts about his race cars.
So what if he could afford professional help fixing up his cars instead of doing it all his self?
I would if i could, and I don't get all weird if someone else can and I can't.

Same with his post in the wife thread.

Can't take it back now.
Maybe we can learn from it?

I found him interesting- definitely the kind of guy you read about in magazines.

RIP.

Dude started a lot of threads, among them The "Chest Thread", a solid contribution.

Way too young, sorry to hear this.

Condolences to his family.

I knew him mostly just to say hello. I knew his father better but Mark and I met when we were both having engines built at Supertec. The 68 Porsche vintage racer he bought from Supertec was originally slated for my collection but Mark out bid me....of course, no hard feelings.

Yet..the money & toys, living the Sou Cal dream evidently didn't buy happiness. :(

Sorry to hear of his passing.
His threads could be interesting and entertaining.
Not too much older than I am right now. Things that make you go Hmmmm.

2porscheguy 12-29-2016 12:40 PM

I, too, enjoyed his threads! He was obviously very proud of his accomplishments and...what's wrong with that...

RIP Mark and condolences to the family...

56 here, so this very sad turn of events to a fellow Pelican has affected me too!:(

RIP my friend.

Gogar 12-29-2016 01:15 PM

I was always a little annoyed by his posts.

While i don't think I was ever really mean to him, I wasn't kind or welcoming either.

So today the internet has reminded me that every person you 'meet' here might just have more going on than you think.

You can treat them two very different ways, since you will likely never meet them in real life.

And I hope that I'll be able to treat more total strangers in the positive way, more often.

RIP!

We all have demons that we have to battle and the person we are combined with our support system will help win these battles (sometimes loose).

That's a really thoughtful and kind response Gogar.

I am curious where the race car will go (I think I have the right car)? Another name to add to the side maybe?

Be always kind to strangers for they are locked in battle.

So sorry to hear of his passing. I saw some of his posts and wondered a little about the person behind them. Can anyone fill in the details? What did he do for a living? Who was his family? I gather his parents were self-made first-generation immigrants. Is this true? Any insight anyone can offer? I'd love to have a more complete picture of the man we knew as a screen name here on PPOTBBS.
