Strange that the bottom 5 feet or so of the pole didn't snap off. Must be a reinforced base with a rather deep piling. The rear axle is intact, that the fire hydrant.

I think if it was a frontal impact the driver would have survived. The door and roof crushed as they were designed to.

For reference, this was my 997 after hitting a light pole on a 45mph road in the dry. I might have been going 9mph over the limit
