You guys can keep that nasty weather. We got WAY more of it than normal (20") this Jan-Feb and I was really done when it finally let up 2 weeks ago. Do send some of that water down south in August tho.

Just finished local TV news from Portland. West Burnside buried by yet another landslide. Saturated soil makes for slides. Pretty heavily trafficked commuter arterial.

I've met a LOT of people who've done that. They come for an interview in August, and discover by October that the 4-color glossy brochure they experienced that weekend in "the summer" isn't what they're really getting.

I knew what I was getting into when I moved out here, and it still gets me down sometimes.

The odd counterpoint is that, when the sun is out, you feel like you *HAVE* to be out in it. Like it's an obligation. I remember last summer, it was like 9pm on a weeknight, and I was headed to bed (I'm an early riser), and I stopped and said, "No, I can't go to sleep yet, I'd be wasting sun-time." It's a bizarre thing.
