Congrats on your 60th birthday but sorry to hear about the wife. I like Grog's idea but since it's your birthday, go to a nice spa and let them do the work.
I'll be turning 50 in a few weeks and I'll be in Bangkok. Not sure the wife will let me cross a certain Bangkok item off my bucket list. Doesn't hurt to ask tho!
