as a note: all of the pre texas investment bank vintage ducatis seem to be rising in value. take care of your ss and sell it for twice what you paid for it when you start riding it less and gazing at it more!!!

There was one available for the 900SS. I have one on my bike. It might not show up all that well in this photo, but there are two smaller diameter crossover pipes connecting the two main exhaust pipes. They replace the cast manifold-like crossover.

Jeff, that looks very similar to mine, except your hangers are different. Even the cans look nearly identical. There is a cylindrical damper held in by an Allen bolt at the back of each can that I've left in place (for now).

Glad to see you haven't followed through on your (misguided) plans to sell. You'd wake up the next day scouring the ads! Or, you could buy one of Pete's bikes!

It was running rich with the stock setup and choppy at low rpm's. I ran some Seafoam through it, changed the plugs and installed the spaghetti system at the same time. As stated above, the way it makes power is just intoxicating. My Triumph Bonnie was a 900 also, but a complete bore to ride by comparison. This bike is torquey as heck and a riot to ride. Brakes are like the hand of God himself. Love love love this bike!

Rich is better than lean. Maybe a dyno session will help. My low rpm issue was solved by richening the mix and dyno tuning.

I always thought that the Hand of God is what tries to lift me outa my seat at the ton mark!

It was considerably rich, and definitely not what I'd call lean now. Not much access to dyno resources around here...and I'm pretty happy with how she's running.

Yes, the tricolore on a 900SS looks great. Aftermarket or custom, I presume?

A friend has a 900SS FE with a spaghetti system and I'm pretty sure it's made by Termi.

Thank you. That paint job is actually the result of a low-side wherein the bike flew off a cliff, as I slid along on the pavement behind it, bemoaning my current state of affairs. Totally trashed my carbon fiber fairings, but the carbon tank and monoposto seat survived. So, when I painted the new Sharksinz fairings, I decided to do something different. Did it all with model airplane rattle cans from the local hobby shop, reasoning it was all "fuel proof" paint. It's proven to be as advertised.

Thought I would join - again. '95 CR that's complete but the past owner could not put it back together after replacing the cases. Should be a good father son project

What happened to the cases? About the only way I've heard of guys damaging cases is by breaking a chain. These things are so darn hell for stout that I doubt you could hurt the cases by "blowing" the motor or tranny.

One of the things I'm considering doing the next time I have mine that far apart is doing up the frame in white, like the earlier bikes. Not that the champagne frame is unattractive, but, boy do those white frames pop.

Loose side stand bolts. One fell out and when the previous owner placed it on the side stand it cracked the remaining mounting hole. Apparently, the guy had Ducati connections as the bike came with all new cases, belts, bearings and a NIB clutch assembly. I just spent the past few nights shimming the gears and crank and now its going back together.
