You meant "how" not "why", right?

Through the Mosques and via the Internet from what I've read is the "how".

The "why" is because that's what the fundamentals of Islam as practiced "literally" leads to.

It is a good question with a regrettably simple answer.

The guts of it is that parents immigrate to a new land for whatever reason, usually economic, and most usually maintain significant elements of their original culture, religion and habits, in part to ease their personal cultural shock and in part as they, being adults, tend not to make large changes in the experiences and beliefs they grew up with.

The kids grow up then in a schizophrenic place where at home the practice the home country's culture, language (usually) and most of their contacts are from the homeland, but out in school they face a totally different experience in terms of language, culture, habits and so forth.

If the delta between the new culture and the home country's culture is large (as it is between Western culture and Islam), then this schizophrenia becomes a big deal. Kids feel they do not belong either place and usually snap into an extreme version of one or the other.

Joining the new culture usually alienates the parents and causes all manner of issues (witness honour killings and such as happen all to regularly with immigrants to Western countries).

Joining the old culture gives rise to the extremist views when Islam is involved and you then have a jihadi, born in country but who is crazed as any and literally....Boom!

When will a political leader in some nation around the world make this connection to their constituents?

Full personal bias disclosure - the 19 came from Saudi Arabia a Sunni country with a medieval feudal government.

Iran a Shiite nation just had 75% participation in a democratic election.

Saudis are to DUMB to develop an A-bomb, thus the Iran bomb deal that they outright bought from a democrat and now flip flop embraced by a republican.

BTW, the Saudi's now own the biggest share of gasoline refining facilities in the states, just like the oil companies here like for their bottom lines.

US Intelligence seems like the wrong description for an organisation that's in the secret's business.

Terrorism and bombing on home turf might be a new concept for American's but over here in its been going on for centuries. Yesterday is was the IRA, today ISIS, tomorrow some other group with a problem.

The UK's approach to fighting terrorism is far more under the radar and closer to the enemy than watching remote control bombing targets in a desert on the news 1000's of miles away so I can see why some people think nothing is being done.

There are millions of Muslim's fleeing for a safer life, can't blame or hate them for it as I'd do the same. The majority are good, honest people and a very small minority are not. Africa is on Europe's doorstep, same as Haiti, Cuba and Mexico is on your door step. We may have the occasional bomb being set off by extremists but you guys have your central American gangs, drug cartels, and poor kids with guns. Both in one way or another could be classed as terrorism and all are too deeply rooted in society to just simply round them all up and send them all back where they came from or circle the wagons.

UK may have problems with some cultures mixing/integrating but I feel very safe in my own home, driving in my car and going about my daily business and so do all my friends.

I will not live in fear and will carry on living my life the way I've always done as the day I start living in fear is the day they have won.
