PO of my 996 told me that he likes to take the paper air filter out and shake it clean it every now and then. I guess it wouldn't be a bad idea to do that every few months between air filter changes. Nope, the air filter is date coded 2004 and he bought the car in 2005.

That was almost a decade ago that car was built.

I don't think I would trust a tow truck driver to change my wheel.....Wheels can be scratched and I won't have that.

LOL!
Some of the best times with my son were teaching him the arts of being a man - wear a suit, tie a tie, change your oil, change a flat. A dad misses a lot if he doesn’t do that.

Somewhere on that "Man Card" it should read 'Build a wooden box with dovetail joints using a brass backed gents' saw'.

I laughed out loud when I read Porsche Gal's story of the kids leaving the spare on the road.

Things a man needs to know how to do:

Change a tire/ oil/ wiper blades/ air filter on any car.
Back up a boat trailer with a boat on it, preferably without wiping out any property.
Carve a Christmas turkey and do it well.
Give the "birds and bees talk".
Lead a prayer.
Give a speech or pep talk when asked, and only when asked.
Load and fire a shotgun.
Pick out a diamond ring for his woman and propose to her.
Give calming words to a scared child or animal.
Offer wisdom to the undeserving lost souls who need it.

That’s on my bucket list (not necessarily the saw part). I want to paint a decent oil painting a make a well crafted wooden box before I die.

Haha!

You guys almost have me questioning my cigar smoking, scotch and pepsi drinking, tractor driving, fighting, and getting bit all the time outside by spiders. But since I'm almost 50, it's too late for me to change now.

I have had a beard for over 40 years. And I did build a VW 40 hp engine. I own a stick welder and a torch set. I am far from a professional welder, but I can booger weld like crazy, and get it right on occasion.

I’m pretty sure that you can get the replacements here or from Amazon.

Now that you mention it, that should be on there too. I would probably add "with Hi Low speed range", so that it eliminates cars like my effete 6-speed which I cram into the store room in back. Yeah, the roll up door operates with the Home Link.

How about adding driving a three on the tree?

I remember the first time I had to drive a friend's old Bronco I got in an saw a stick but it was for the 4 wheel drive. I looked for the gear lever and saw a clutch pedal on the floor so it was a manual. Then I noticed the three on the tree. Off I went, no problem.

Yeah! One with worn out linkage so you have to get out and yank it out of first gear when it hangs up. That’s real man stuff right there.

Based on other threads, maybe we need to re-evaluate this thread. How do we know they are really men? Maybe they just identify as men. Worse, does this qualify as toxic masculinity?

This is where our "enlightened" country is headed.

i could give an eff about most of it these days.

i just want to see men, "man-up" and help the elderly. they dont even hold doors open anymore.

in ABQ, we saw an old dude using a walker..he was pushing his walker and trying to hold his food tray..(@ the Frontier diner). he was surrounded by clueless retards. my brother trotted over and grabbed his tray. we offered him a seat at our table.

i saw the same old dude in the bathroom. i washed my hands and stood there until he was done so i could hold the door for him. people came and went.

retards.

Some so-called "real man" who has only driven a three-on-the-tree and jumps in my old Saab would be starting out in 2nd every time and burn my ****ing clutch up.
