No business wants an employee to alienate part of it's customer base.

His name and face are associated with the team that employs him. He must be careful to not allow his thoughts and beliefs to harm his employer.

exactly. teams just care about winning, and Kap just wasn't getting it done, he's not viewed as a starter anymore.

His actions have probably hurt him getting picked up as a backup, though. No team wants a backup quarterback that causes controversy. That's not the role of a backup.

I suspect by the middle of the NFL season, Cleveland will be calling him (me with eyes closed, rubbing my temples, while grimacing).

That is what it took for you to lose respect for the NFL some idiot being blackballed?

I guess my tolerance is lower than yours. I stopped watching Football many years ago. I have not watched a single game or Superbowl in almost 10 years now.

I still watch every game I can because I love the play, not all the B.S. off the feild. I am usually flipping between games to eliminate all the commercials/idle talk/speculation, and refuse to watch pregames/post game interviews.

If he played like Brady he would be in demand.

I don't believe that he's being blackballed. Most teams don't view him as a starting quarterback anymore, and because of his deficiencies in playing as a pocket-passer, his value as a backup is greatly diminished. Let's not forget that his asking price seems to be substantially above "market," too.

I have no issue with Kap...but if my business success relied on public image, team dynamics and absence of distractions I am not hiring Kap. However if Kap's production was better, and the risk reward penciled out, he'd have a job.

That is the real world.
Yup, it's simple risk vs reward. Lots of risk, not much talent, so he's sitting at home. Quite simple really....

Brady could murder kittens on national TV and still have a starting job tomorrow.

Pro sports are one of the few places in America where a meritocracy still exists.

The 'speaking his mind' thing or 'keeping it real' has little to nothing to do with his situation. He simply cannot read defenses and make appropriate decisions with what to do with the ball in the 2-3 seconds he has to do all that. That is why he is not playing.

Amazing.
He went from damn near winning the Super Bowl to sitting on the bench.
WTH happened?
I wonder if the influence of his Muslim wife contributed...Hmmm.
I do know that he lost a lot of wt. and muscle from their ME diet.

Selective indignation.

He hasn't been blackballed, he just isn't very good and has an attitude problem and his contribution is seriously in question. He isn't worth the gamble, even if a few anti-patriotic types still support trash like him (no O'fence).

As for the other trouble-makers, the owners don't want them.
They try to fire them, but it isn't up to the owners or teams.
The players have what we call a UNION and all discipline beyond fines for missing meetings goes through UNION arbitration.
Then the lawyers get involved and the people who belong in the penitentiary get to keep playing a game for $millions per year.

That's what happens when communists get too much power.

I wonder if they have football in Ghana?

No surprise no team is picking him up, he isn't really projecting the image that he's working hard to make a team.

Maybe just my opinion but on Sunday I want to just escape all the political BS that goes on 24/7 in the times we live in not to mention life's daily struggles. I just want to watch a game of football! Leave all the political BS for the interviews after the game. I'm 100% for free speech but do it during the week and leave the game alone.

Pro football is a business. Its all about making profit. The athletes want to win for the sport reasons but the ownership is looking to sell tickets and advertising. Two reasons Colin screwed up:
-Owners don't want to risk a backlash against the team that reduces income.
-Owners don't want someone who causes division among the players which can hurt their ability to win which reduces income.

C.K. has a right to speak his mind. I have a right to boycott any team or product that is connected to him if I don't like what he believes.
