Photoshop help?

I wanted to see what my red brick would look like in a white color. I have seen some amazing photoshop jobs in the past. TIA.

No help with P/S...I have the same sink faucet.
Nice layout, but that clock...................
.
Yes, I'm bored. :)

crustychief 07-10-2017 07:27 PM

I know. but it is great for the daughter when she was learning how to tell time. My wife was not happy at my snarky attempt to turn it white with MSpaint.

With all due respect Herr Oberst, I think I prefer Crusty's fine workmanship. It's kind of got that urban funk look about it.

Gogar 07-10-2017 07:54 PM

Dang You've got an enormous clock

Funny chit.

aigel 07-10-2017 09:05 PM

Haha - someone PS the clock out!!!

-Levi- 07-10-2017 09:23 PM

Wow, great photoshop! That wall looks way better in white!

jarrodblake 07-10-2017 09:26 PM

If you're open to suggestions, I think crystal gray brick would look good with the wood floor. I think it comes as a Stain and not a paint.

Much better...I agree. Maybe even a bit less white.
Again, nice layout.
.
herr_oberst does good work...took a black/white photo of me that I posted here and added color in various stages...I still have it.
.

jakebarrell 07-11-2017 04:05 AM

It looks really great in white & without the clock!
Good job with PS, sc_rufctr.

Before I bought my house the previous owner painted the brick fireplace white. I don't like it, nope, don't like it a bit. But alas, too much elbow grease to get rid of that paint.

If you are trying for something more contemporary, tile it or something that gets rid of the brick texture not just the color.

Why? Rock out with your clock out I say.

Although, with the white brick, you might consider a big black clock instead.
You know, for contrast. :D

aigel 07-11-2017 11:32 AM

Lol!

I would consider lightening the red brick color - wire-brush?

Fads change - red will undoubtedly be back and as mentioned it is a pita to get it cleaned up.

Personally, I don't worry about such details. Is it functional? Good to go! One has to slow the spouse on decorative activities that waste a mans time and money.

Or you panel over it with wood (or some other faux paneling that looks like tile or marble) then if you want to go back to brick later just pull the wood off.

+1

A moderate contrast vs the red brick.

After seeing the gray...I like it better than the lighter. Less contrast with the room.

Bob Kontak 07-12-2017 01:07 PM

Icing wall and monstro clock had me in tears last night.

Bravo!

Me too! I am in Florida on travel so Mrs crusty will have to wait to to see that!

RKDinOKC 07-13-2017 05:23 PM

They have a brick stain that looks a lot better than painting to me. You just change the color of the brick but it still looks like real brick instead of painted bricks.

Ayles 07-13-2017 10:51 PM

I assume all of these are permanent solutions? Id be hesitant to do anything that wasnt reversible. I have a lot of brick inside and have considered painting but am really hesitant to do something permanent.

I'm thinking about changing the color of my exterior brick accent to compliment the changing exterior color of my house, so I Googled brick stain and it looks like that's the way to go for me. Won't peel over time.

so much funnier if you get an Asian woman to say that.

dad911 07-14-2017 10:58 AM

I would tile over the brick.....

crustychief 07-21-2017 05:45 AM

Well, now we have white bricks. She made the call and got 3 quarts of "Annie Sloan chalk pure white" paint. I think it looks good, it certainly makes the room look bigger. I guess I am getting a new clock as well.

Mrs crusty verifying the clock is indeed 6 inches, as I told her it was.
