i think it does.

my favorite sandwich lady. she owns this shop (with her husband). she is stunning. shockingly stunning. she has some tasteful (to me)foilage tats. full sleeves.

she wears very librarian glasses, dresses moderately conservative..that odd juxtaposition of the tats..adds a hotness.. like a naughty hotness. if i have to explain it..well, you know. there is truly an ass for every seat.

Some interesting responses....

I have one tattoo of a Cross incorporating the middle of the Croatian Flag. Two things that will never change... If it was magically erased, I would get another one exactly the same tomorrow.

A coworker once told me he would never get such a tattoo. I said of course you wouldn't. A, your not Catholic and B, you're not in shape enough to have such art on a visible part of your body.

Why draw attention to a bad blank canvas...? Whereas, why not draw attention to a way above average canvas.

Get the picture?...

I have no tattoos. No real reason, I just don't.

I could also care less about tattoos on others. I just don't.

Tattoos are just part of the tableau, in my mind. Tattoos are human bumper stickers, meant to convey something: Sometimes interesting, often cool, frequently a cry for help.

However, for those with visible tattoos on their neck or face to think that that particular choice does not come with a down side are mistaken.

That's confusing a look with "beauty"
A look, it's something you can add or remove.
Like having a fetish for girls that dress in leather and ride a bike or what not.

Except that with tats, you can't remove em anymore.
But they are just that.. a look. You like the look.
The tat did not make her more pretty then she was before.

You would not think a 4/10 was suddenly an 8/10 because of the tats.
You wouldn't wanna tap that 4's ass , before, or after adding the tats.
That would not change.

You'de tap an 8 without question, with or without the tats.

The person that posted this on Facebook is a mother with teenage boys, I'm sure she was doing research to counter the peer pressure her kids are under. She takes care of herself, and as I understand it her boys are quite athletic. Nothing come out of a box at her house, no processed foods and I think some in her family are vegan, vegetarian or some other restrictive diet.

If someone is interested in living healthy, saving the planet or whatever, maybe the tattoo situation needs closer examination. I mean how does putting lead and mercury into your body help save the whales?

Exposure to these metals and toxins can place an extreme burden on the liver and the other detox organs. Studies show that the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons have been found stored in the lymph nodes of tattooed people causing them to actually turn black. Many of the heavy metals, like lead and mercury, are also considered to be neurotoxins that can affect cognitive function and cause brain fog, fatigue, and many other symptoms. While the damage of these toxins individually to our health is well-studied, the research on the long-term effects of tattoos is still in its infancy.

well, i dont attribute beauty (ironically) as skin deep. i think "attitude" plays a huge role..sometimes a pretty girl with a tattoo playing peek-a-boo under a conservative dress shirt says she has a hankering to play..a wild side. i'm cool with that.

i think a pretty girl can do pretty much anything and still be relatively pretty..like shave her head. i really dont judge much anymore. do what you want to yourself..i'm cool with it.

There are just certain things I find repulsive. Just the way my old brain was programed. I suppose I could reprogram it, but why bother. Road kill, maggots, open wounds, food in a beard or mustache, boogers hanging out of a nostril and the like. Just the old "ick" factor. I have the same reaction to tattoos. Not there is really anything wrong with any of it, that is just the way I have been all my life. I just look the other way. I was having a sandwich made at a shop the other day and the girl making it was covered with all kinds of ink and piercings all over her face. I could not bring my self to look at her and just stared at the floor while I told her what to put on it. I did not enjoy eating the sandwich after that either. I guess I will just go elsewhere or go home and fix something when I encounter that situation again. My problem to deal with.

What causes/creates beauty that's different from a look? I guess it could be the cranio-facial structure, but then how about skin tone, skin color, skin condition, hair color, hair length (or not) eye color, etc.... And with all of that, even if you're just talking about proportions and spacing of facial components, I'm sure that there are some folks that might find the same girl beautiful or not with blond, brown or blue hair or brown, green or blue eyes. Beauty is subjective, not objective so tats may totally do it for some folks.

Hmm, yes and no. I've known girls that were beautiful but not desirable or attractive because of their personality or attitude, and I've known some girls that were pretty, but not beautiful that were very attractive or desirable because of personality or attitude.

To me, beauty would definitely be a purely visual/physical attribute. Attractiveness or desirability is not.

There are a wide range of descriptions that have different or slightly different meanings.

hot

cute

pretty

attractive

gorgeous

beautiful

They are all similar but distinctively different.

I don't have any tats, no one in my (extended) family has any except my nephew and he got them after joining the coast guard. Looks like crap IYAM.
None of my close friends have tats, and if single i wouldn't date a girl with tattoos.
To me they just immortalize poor judgement.

Well that seems unlikely, since they're related to jail culture and gangs.
Really I think that is just a construct to support some peoples distaste for other peoples choices.

Iceman with worlds oldest tattoos

We have documented 5300 years of humans doing this.

I bet those ancient tattoos were naturally derived, safe and organic compared to the toxic stuff used today.

The way some of you feel about tattoos.... (yes I know, the excessive ones) is the exact way I feel about fat people. YMMV

Fat people with tattoos..................and psoriasis.

I've seen way too much of that, and in shorts.

No thanks.

Are Tattoos Safe for People with Psoriasis?

Any skin trauma, such as a cut, insect bite, or sunburn, can cause psoriasis-type lesions to develop. This is known as the Koebner phenomenon. Since tattoos cause skin trauma, getting one may cause these psoriasis-like lesions to occur on your skin around the tattoo.

I don't have any tats but don't mind people that do unless its on their face. That is too much.

I've seen so many people with their entire body tats what happens when they get stretch marks with a tat. I'd hate to google and see the results.
