Marble news
I am close to finished with this Marble shell, I have built the base in wax and invested it in the ceramic coating. I hope to pour it this week. The shell will sit upright with the opening at the top, there is no way I can pick this up, probably 150 or so lbs. The first picture shows the ceramic coated wax upside down, it will go into the kiln to burn the wax out then the bronze will pour into the cup at the top and go through the runners to fill it. the other smaller lines are vents to let the air out. The second picture is right side up, you can get an idea. There is a curved piece in the middle that will stay and two pieces at the very base that will stay to keep it from separating. Most of what you see will be scrap at the end of the day. The owner is in the Philippines and won't be back for another week, if he doesn't like the way it sits I will have to build another base.

Thanks, I hope to have it done when the guy gets back from the Philippines, then post some finished pictures before he puts in the shop for sale
